Motorcycles are not dangerous. It's the other drivers on the road that don't see you or don't care if you are on a motorcycle, they are the ones that are dangerous.
Although I agree mostly, there are those bikers who doesn't understand the fact that if they don't ride their bikes like a normal vehicle, occupying a normal space, they do deserve not being cared about. Trying to fit every single f... gap just gets them closer to fitting in their coffin. Thats what I don't accept. I don't mean you ride like that or anybody here, it is just a general anger against those types of bikers.

A family friend of mine got killed on a motorcycle, by a deer, the deer jumped over him and must not have jumped high enough, wiped him off the bike.

Well you only live once. last year my uncle fell off the back of his pickup truck and broke his neck. he passed away 2 days later. so you can get killed doing a lot of other stuff too. to me riding my Harley makes you feel free. just being out in the open going down the road there is no other feeling you get and you can smell everything. you can't smell nothing when your setting inside a air conditioned car. I traveled all across united states mostly with my dad he also has a Harley. him and me been to 38 states and I would never give up riding for nothing. been riding since 1995 my dad been riding since 1985 neither of us ever had anything happen to us. same as other friends that ride with us never had anything happen too them.

Your pretty old then lol, i was 3 years old in 95, ill be 26 on the 14th of June, i mean your absolutely right , nothing beats the open road thats for sure, but if im going to ride with someone, i want to make sure that they know the roads, and if they have a problem i might be able to help, i know a few things about vehicles, besides diesels, never owned one or driven on, i took small engines class in HS, but a teacher who couldn't tie his shoes, thats a long story. And you just gotta trust someone you know to ride with them, but yet again he was riding at night. There not as dangerous as i thought.

I wish I had a nickle for everytime a dumbass on a motorcycle passes on double yellows, between cars or in curves. There are just as many irresponsible motorcyclist as car drivers.

Hey, I'll be 30 tomorrow (6/14). Happy birthday!

Re: motorcycles. My grandpa owned a 1956 Duo Glide Harley. He sold it long before I was born. My dad owns a 1994 Heritage Softail Nostalgia. I used to ride with him when I was a boy. I longed for the day I could buy my first Harley. A big part of my family started riding about the time I turned 20. I bought a 2000 Sportster Custom 1200. Dad brought it home for me. I rode it up and down the road by my house about a mile total. Scared me to death and I swore I'd never get on another one. They're not for everyone. Sure, if I had grown up riding dirt bikes or took some training courses, I might be on one today. But honestly, I'm glad I scared myself out of it. I still think they're awesome machines but I want no part of them.
