We don't put anhydrous on. Not many farmers around here put it on in the spring. Only one guy was out disking his plowed ground a few days ago. We still need to get our equipment ready. Our planter tractor needs a new seal for hydraulics number 1 and 2 so we can't plant until we fix it. We also need to put a pump on the planter too. Luckily this year nothing is worn out too bad.

That's good at least. We need a few drag teeth and extra chain connectors for the drag, which we will get this afternoon. We got the disc and drag hooked up ready to go. Need to hook up the planter still. That tractor is on the liquid manure tank still.

We have the field cultivator hooked up to the tractor but the drag still needs to be hooked up. The disk and crumbler are hooked up but we need to switch the tractor. Once we get the Magnum fixed we will hook up the planter. We didnt even unhook it until January because we had to use the 4wd on the grain cart.

Haha well hopefully we don't have another year like that this year. Hopefully we don't have a drought this year either.

It's looking like our area might have a drought this year, snow melt isn't as normal as it usually is

Today and yesterday we cultivated the headlands of a few fields. It's still wet and early for planting. Doesn't help that it will be in the 40s the rest of the week. If we planted beans now they probably wouldn't come up for a month.

Yup, won't be planting this or possibly next week either. Maybe at the end of next week.

My grandpa was cultivating a field today. May be a little wet, but it is fine for the first pass of tillage to work the fertilizer in.

Was helping put all the electronics into the corn planting tractor a couple days ago. Corn planting is a week out for us. That tractor honestly has the workings of a spaceship

For our Case ih 1250 planter we just run a Pro 600 monitor. We still need to replace a couple O-rings in the tractor before we can hook it up to the planter. Planting will probably we at the end of the month or at the beginning of May for us.

Everyone is moving so much quicker than normal because they don't want a repeat of last year.

It's still cold though. We picked up seed from one of our "farmer friends" and he said the soil temp was 41 yesterday morning. We also do not want to plant right before is gonna rain a half inch tommorow night.

Last year we planted right before that last snow fall and that corn did well. Just from getting seed to our other farm a couple miles away I counted 7 different farmers in their fields.

Our seed corn guy put in his plot today too. We plant channel. I know channel and DeKalb have the coating the seed that it can sit on colder temperatures and won't crack until it reaches the appropriate temp.
