They’re fun until they break and then then working words start flying. The Deere (and the rest of the new machines) is probably like the 8N, if it gets flogged mercilessly it will fail early, while if it’s cared for it will last for a long while.
There’s a lot of old stuff still around but there’s a lot that’s not, because it was abused or just a poor item when new.

Farmall Cubs are cool to! We have two, also the sickle on it is terrible... old, rusty, and cobbled together. It works but is slow and plugs easily.

Sorry, no way, an ecu will never make it 80 years, I don’t care what brand it is and eventually electrical parts will become impossible to find. Nothing is simple enough anymore. You could draw out the wiring schematics on those old tractors off the top of your head in a few minutes the new ones it can take ten times that just to figure out where one wire goes. Everything has too many moving and small parts now to last as long as the old stuff did.

Same for our tractor, no ECU’s in sight.
2025R first Gens are dead simple, simpler than the my 317.
An repair skills will follow the technology levels.
Old stuff also doesn’t fair as perfect as you make it sound like, our 8N came with an extension cord for the wiring harness, all of our old machines have wiring problems, etc. and that’s on top of unknown mechanical problems. So yes I expect it to be in a similar state to old machines of similar quality it 70years. It and most other CUT machines also have the benefit of not being full time Ag machines like 8N’s were.
