[READ] 7.0.0 giant engine stopped working

i feel like this is old news but i purchased this thru steam and downloaded the other day, all excited to play it when i stopped driving for the night
and i start it up and get this error. no mods no nothing right off the bat boom no start.
my laptop is all up to date, and its a gaming computer so lots of graphics, ram and everything to go around...
i have verified local files and stuff
any other ideas???

Stupid question, have you tried starting the game again?
I occasionally get this error, but ending the program through task manager and trying again has always worked fine for me.
How long does it take from clicking the icon to the error showing, roughly? Do you see a loading screen, or anything beforehand?
