The length of cut could be lengthened to 10m There is still considerable room on the log trailer for more wood.

As Giants said they won't fix, well add even though it would be useful but maybe a mod could solve your problem. I play on the PS4 and there's nothing for that but I don't know about PC or Xbox if you're playing on one of those platforms.

You can just use a chainsaw, cut it down and walk along the tree with the chainsaw running and pointed down.

Should do if you crouch while doing it and if not just lift the tree and do it then.
