Re: Ingame mod updates menu cluttered with unzipped mods
I've also reported this in the german bug-reports section: viewtopic.php?f=934&t=119174
Glad to see that somebody else confirmed that this is a general issue.

Re: Ingame mod updates menu cluttered with unzipped mods
I completely forgot that you did, lol. I even quoted that topic in discord and still forgot, I must be getting old.
I've got the exact same issues, sometimes all unzipped mods show as needing an update, sometimes only some, and sometimes none.

Re: Ingame mod updates menu cluttered with unzipped mods
Why would you unzip a mod? Shouldn't they all be zipped?
Re: Ingame mod updates menu cluttered with unzipped mods
Personally, for one sole reason: Editing them. Especially for mods that are in development, it's a hassle to keep zipping and unzipping, and since I don't play MP with them, they're fine being unzipped. Leaving an edited version of an existing mod unzipped also reminds me that I have made edits to it, so I can't just update it.
Between editing existing mods, and creating my own mods, I've got about 60 unzipped mods in my mods folder.

Re: Ingame mod updates menu cluttered with unzipped mods
I'm not sure if it still applies, but in fs15, saved games would load quicker if the map mod was unzipped in the mods folder. I haven't tried this in 17 as they load pretty quickly anyway.

Re: [READ] Ingame mod updates menu cluttered with unzipped mods
This will not be changed for now - we talked to our devs and it's a won't fix for us, I'm afraid.
