Giants modhub quality?

Post by IceUul »

I have downloaded all the mods from Giants modhub and checked them out.
Quite a nice selection, but today i noticed two mods uploaded recently and this made me to ask
some questions.

These two mods:
https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.p ... tle=fs2019

https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.p ... tle=fs2019

These mods look like they are converted from FS13 or even FS11, textures are plain and there are no materials set,
they look so wrong inside the game that i just want to scream.

I understand Giants will check them before upload to PC/XB1/PS4 in-game modhub.

Does any mod can be uploaded there or is there some quality control? All the mods will be accepted if does
not contain errors or some will be rejected?

I am quite tired to do quality check myself for all the mods i download, i know some random websites host everything, but Giants modhub should have some elementary quality control what should and what should not accepted into the game.
These mods will not fit into the game and they look like i am going back 5 years in FS series.

I know we had these kind of different quality mods in FS17 modhub also, but FS17 had much more bad quality graphics and these mods did not
look so wrong there.

Edit don_apple: moved from "General Discussion" to "ModHub Mods Bug-Reports" since this thread is about Mods from the ModHub and not the game itself.

We usually do not reject mods for bad quality in terms of visuals. If they do work as promised and don't use an extensive amount of resources they will be accepted.
If you are looking for only the best quality mods, then lookout for the "top" flag, which only the mods get we think also have certain level of quality.

We have actually lowered the minimal level of visual quality needed to enter the mod hub over time (even before the release of FS19), as we found that quite a lot of people still like to have at least a low quality version of some vehicle/map they are looking for rather than not having it at all.

Hi Stegei,

I really like these new mods released on the modhub, especially these two:
https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.p ... tle=fs2019
https://www.farming-simulator.com/mod.p ... tle=fs2019

"They do work as promised and don't use an extensive amount of resources", that's what I'm talking about! *thumbsup*

@RGH - Nice trolling! *thumbsdown*

Thanks for answer @Stegei.

Now i know, if i click top mods only, i get the quality ones that are quality by giants also.
Just checked it out and it really moves the mods i do not like so much.
You did a good work there *thumbsup*

Ok now this is the perfect mid size farm trailer for my operation. However it configures to a manure spreader as well but unfortunately no where does it say what its working width is.

Hi IceUul,

Sorry to hear that you don't like the mod.
The textures might look plain, but technically there isn't a diffuse texture, my mod uses the UDIM system.
(The system that Giants uses for FS19)
If you would like to scream, you should. I expect you to live in a country where it is not forbidden to scream.

Currently I am looking how to get the light scattering, like the example below

P.S. happy new year!

A 3-point-hitch pallet fork is a genius idea for use on a small farm.
