When to fertilize?

When to fertilize?
How often can I fertilize a field in order to improve yield? When is the ideal first fertilization layer, before cultivation? After cultivation and before seeding? Just after seeding? What is the latest you can fertilize and still improve yield?
And are there different rules for manure, fertilizer and slurry? Or do they all follow the same guidelines here?

Re: When to fertilize?
Once, applies to all types of fert. And can be done at any time.

Re: When to fertilize?
Thanks @DEERE317, I was thinking it might be a good idea to fertilize either:
(a) in between harvesting my crops and cultivating the field for the next crop cycle (so that the fertilizer is already in the soil by the time I go to cultivate/till it); or
(b) in between cultivating my field and seeding it (so that the fertilizer is there for the seeds when they are sowed); or
(c) in between different growing phases (maybe in between dark green and light yellow), so as to give the plants a "boost" in the middle of their growth
Do you have any experience with this type of experimentation here? When do you usually apply your fertilizer? Thanks again

Re: When to fertilize?
Thanks @EVO1, duly noted! Do you happen to know where I can find liquid fertilizer for the sprayer or solid fertilizer for the fertilizer vehicle? Thanks again!
Re: When to fertilize?
In FS20 you only need to fert once. The most efficient time to do that is while you are seeding. Get a seeder/planter that can fert at the same time. That way you don't have to go back over your field with any of the other options.
Liquid/solid fert can be bought in the silos by the main farm/cow barn.

Re: When to fertilize?
Thanks @Kimpak, that makes sense. For both liquid and solid fertilizer, what do the symbols look like?
And I assume I just drive the fertilizer over the correct symbol and it fill automatically for me? Thanks for any clarification here!

Re: When to fertilize?
I usually fertilize by using manure, slurry or digestate before seeding/planting. Then I use a seeder/planter with solid fertilizer to cover the small gaps I left out while spreading the manure, slurry or digestate. Then my field will be fertilized to the max with minimum cost. I use hired worker for seeding, so every field spot will usually be covered.
This only works when you have managed to fill the manure heap and slurry tank at either the cow stable or pig pasture. You have to spreading straw in order to produce manure by your cows and pigs
Digestate is a side product of processing the chaff at the biogas plant.
In the early stages of a farm career you can only fertilize by buying the solid or liquid fertilizer at their silos on the main farm. Those three silos at shed in front of the farm house (buying points for seed, solid fert., liquid fert.)
Hopes this helps you to speed up you farm career a bit,

I don't think so.Kimpak wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 7:48 pm In FS20 you only need to fert once. The most efficient time to do that is while you are seeding. Get a seeder/planter that can fert at the same time. That way you don't have to go back over your field with any of the other options.

Once when seeding 2nd time with first growth 3 rd time when crop is in 2nd growth stage
