Those trees, they always do that. Whatever you do, they always manage to drop the fps. I hope giants could come up with a solution for that. Because, if I'm not mistaken none of the other 3D models do something like that.
BulletBill wrote: Wed Jun 20, 2018 10:18 amI can even run the map in 4k res at around 35-55fps, which my PC really shouldn't be able to.
This gives me a huge hope that my PS4 Pro should be able to run it at 4k 60fps constant.
I can't even imagine how beautiful that lake and the cabin will look like in 4k.

Thanks again for that amazing map BulletBill :hi:

And please no offence to anybody but Eustace Pharmer's first look was just the best and the cutest :biggrin2:
Good luck with that. The PS4 Pro cannot even run it at 1080p on Goldcrest at a solid 60fps once you get a few pieces equipment working.

Bill, just curious, what video card do you have?

Digital Foundry tested it.

It drops to the 30s in 4K on Goldcrest and that is just with the base starting equipment. Get more and it drops even further. There is a reason they locked it to 30fps for the Xbox One X version. Playing on my PC at 4k 60 FPS is a night and day difference to the PS4 Pro, which I also have.

You can also be oblivious to it, which is always good. Before I built my PC I never had any issues with my PS4 Pro performance in the game, but now that I played 4k with a rock solid 60 FPS on PC, I just can't go back to my PS4 version.

I don't think I need luck for that. Because my Pro is hooked up to a 1080P monitor and I'm using supersampling mode.
Basically 4K visuals downscaled to 1080P. The difference is huge.

If the map is optimized I never get any fps drops anywhere.

For example, on TVTOF the only places I get fps drops are dense forested areas.
And another example is Sussex farm (last update). There is not even a single spot I get fps drops.
Oakfield is even better.

I didn't have the chance to test my Pro with FS17 on a 4K native monitor but it is doing a great job with supersampling and downscaling on a 1080P monitor.

Btw, with Detroit: Become Human, the results are even much better than FS17.

As requested my PC specs are:

- CPU: Intel i7 940 2.93ghz (1st gen)

- RAM: 12GB DDR3 Corsair Venagance

- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce 960 GTX 4GB

- OS: Windows 7

I normally have all graphic settings turned up to full in Farm Sim 17, and run it in 1920x1080 res. I also disable the FPS limiter so it can run above 60fps.

My CPU is about 9 years old, and although my GPU isn't low spec it isn't in the same league as a 970 or even 1060 GPUs. It is closer in spec to a 1050.

You can get a drop in FPS with little to no noticeable affect other than the FPS counter saying so. Unless it's a huge drop you just don't notice.

As long as you’re happy with the performance that’s all that matters :)
