Syn Trac 1.6 - Horribly broken for anyone else or just me?

Ah, the Syn Trac...the piece of equipment that I first thought was totally goofy then fell in love with it's sheer versatility, I have been eagerly awaiting an update to it for nearly a year and...now it's broken.

None of the controls seem to work. I mean, none. "Unfold" no longer lowers the chassis to attach front/back tools. Attach the elephant loader and none of the elevation controls work. The new tyre pressure feature doesn't seem to do jack. And when I attempt to load the map? The entire game crashes.

I've tried with Simple IC, without Simple IC, old game save on No Man's Land, new No Man's Land save, new Ravenport save, with all my other mods and without. Result is the same.

Busted.

Is it just me? Am I cursed?

The last update gave me ridiculous errors too. I deleted the mod.

It's not just you. The mod has serious issues that eventually result in a total blockage of mouse and keyboard. Leaving an Alt/Tab to desktop to kill the program from outside as the final option.

I've tested this for about an hour with an empty mod folder except for the Syn Trac, the Syn Trac and Simple IC and the mod has serious issues. Many lua errors in the log many, many warnings about keybinding issues.

Interestingly the latest version of Simple IC 0.9.3.4 only appears to work outside the tractor, while an earlier version 0.9.2.3 works inside and out.

When the Simple IC actually works you can change the LCD panel displays, which is cool, but the massive white X's of the Simple IC installation quite totally detract from this eye candy...at least for me.

I would roll back to the earlier version for now until they put out an update.

Today I've tested the new version on our dedi server and I must say: It works just well. :-)
There are no errors in the log file and all Simple IC controls are available and functional from inside and outside. I'm using Simple IC 0.9.3.4.

Do you run the tow bar mod from the ModHub? I had this exact same issue, where the SIC options only worked outside of the cab. Turns out that tow bar mod was the issue. Apparently, this mod has been the root of a lot of different issues that make absolutely no sense, so I just deleted it. As for the Syn Trac itself, I'm not very sure

Sorry, I meant to say that the tow bar mod causes issues with Simple IC, not the Syn Trac

By quoting what I said you answered your own question. :lol:

But just to be gin clear, no. I always test a mod in an empty mod folder. In this case to get full functionality of the mod it requires Simple IC. So I also tested with that...even different versions.

The result for me and others it would appear is that the mod is severely bugged.

First time I can`t understand the problem, but now I find a workaround to fix this massive issue.

Please download the John-Deere Pack by Ifko:

Copy the JD-Pack in the mods folder and thats it. Activation in your savegame is not needed.

After re-reading the description of your mod and noticing this line in the latest change log
add: integration - Ifko Display system
I seemed to recall that was in a mod pack related to John Deere. It some time to track it down, the link was all in German and the down load is 227MB !!!

It all took time and as I wasn't overly keen on adding this huge mod, I left off testing till later.

At thins point I must ask if you would consider separating this for those who enjoy your mod and would benefit from the other updates and fixes the latest version adds, yet are none to keen to add so many additional scrips, plus all that extra 227MB of stuff to their install, as it can cause even more issues.

A hotfix is on the way. To install the JD-Pack is only temporaly workaround to solve this issue.

Yes I`m with you Pict. Less can be more. It`s hard to find the right way between arcade an realism. I try to change the Syn Trac that "easyplay" people not feel the depth of detail. Most features can be ignore or not needed, but helpfull for people they play in cabin view and with additional mods like:
VCA, Simple IC, GPS, Proseed

After dropping the JD Pack in, I could at least get the Syn Trac to load and work.

But, disappointingly, I still couldn't help but notice the rear drive axel on the 6x6 version still doesn't animate.

Hoping the upcoming fix will let me ditch the JD Pack and get that drive axel to actually do something.

I think you are on the wrong way. The cardan shaft you see in the middle of the 3 axle version is not a drive axle. This is the PTO. I think it`s possible to animate it when a rear attachment is activate, but actually I not worked on this or testet it.
