Same problem in single player. Dumped 4 silage bales but no payment. It did show it was processing but can`t find the digestate trigger.

Can confirm Goose66's issue. Dumped 3 silage bales (had to process them through a feeder wagon first to unwrap them). NO PAYMENT >=-( . Looking for a solution but it appears that the trigger might be busted. Was going to base my farm on the BGA but not now.

I thought silage bales were sold at the barn. Haven’t tried it so not sure?

You earn your money at the end of the day, it's like the old train sending system they used previously. My friend and I discovered it on multiplayer when we thought it was a bug. Selling them at the barn gives you money instantly. Not sure of the difference between the prices though

So if you sell silage in the BGA, you don't get the money directly but at midnight?
Does it generate digestate, regardless of the ownership?

Yes but ONLY the guy that owns the BGA gets the money and or the digestate at midnight. If you don't own it, you don't get squat. There is no data for the owner to know who has deposited silage into the BGA bin while he was offline, so even the owner is at a lost of knowing how to distribute the nightly payments IF he were so inclined.
This seems like a bug not a new feature to me.
You don't have to own the shop to buy and sell tractors, or have to own the grain silo to sell grain, so why the BGA? Why would anyone on a public multi-player server spend any time feeding the BGA? They wo'nt! Where is the logic in that in multi-player?
