Great Plains YP-2425A Planter

The bug-reports now states that the Great Plains planter is not going to be fixed to plant row crops as designed. By way of explanation, Lethian stated that this was intentional on the part of Giants (he seems to imply that the planter is actually a seeder). I had assumed that the inability of the planter to plant row crops was an inadvertent (and easily correctable) mistake that would be fixed in an upcoming patch. I am struggling to come up with any reason why the planter is mischaracterized in the game and am wondering if anyone can provide any insight or explanation. Is a 24 row planter from another brand in the works and just not yet ready for release?

I don't understand that either. It plants row crops in real life, so why wouldn't it. Pretty disappointed that it doesn't, since it did in 17.

I agree it is strange considering this comes directly off of Great Plains webpage for the YP-2425A:

"The Great Plains YP-2425A Planter is equipped with two 82-bushel poly hoppers. With its 164 bu. capacity, it can easily plant up to 160 acres of soybeans or 250 acres of corn in one fill. This increases efficiency by approximately 52% in soybeans and 12.8% in corn when compared to a planter with individual hoppers."

I wonder what Great Plains thinks about having its licensed machine represented to not have the capability that they design and market it to have.

I've said it a bunch and I'll say it again, Giants doesn't play this game. They have no interest in farming other than making the game. We wait 6 versions of the game to have a decent sized row crop planter and they ruin it for 19.

On our farm we did some research for a new planter and we looked into it and and the yp-2425a is a planter and why giants didn't leave it as is confused me on it I guess giants didn't want an us brand planter like the in the game that can do all that making EU planters look bad.

My guess: it was in the agreement with JD for the only big planter to be a JD, probably released as DLC with the 9R series.

Not many would use the shiny new vaderstad if the GP still was a planter i know i for one dont like the vaderstad as it runs out of seed WAY too fast. I use the small big bud seed tank hooked in front to plant.

has a stable version of GE dropped yet? im not interested in beta.. im kinda disappointed with this being made into a seeder and I would like to correct this for my personal use

nah the same as the other planters.. its a planter.. I want to plant lol.. but yea I do wanna plant corn and sunny flowers with it.. isn't the 8.0 version kinda janky tho? I want a good stable version.. its honestly the only reason ive waited.. people were saying that GE wasn't working well

PC can mod it back.We console people are stuck unfortunately.

im sorry livesea.. if giants would let me I would fix it and release it as a mod for u guys.. but we all know they wont let me cause its an in game model
