You can get a digital copy from Giants or through Steam for PC.

If on console you have the go through their digital market places or perhaps Amazon or similar (not sure as I have not purchased this way).

Steam updates automatically, direct through Giants, as far as I know you never know when update is ready unless you come check. I wish I bought through steam.

With 17 there was a banner on the start page of the Giants-direct version that announced whenever a new update was available for download, and gave you a link to download it. I can't imagine they would not do the same with 19.

Steam is good. auto updates in background, unlimited backup, cloud saving..

I have FS19 from Steam, I got 13 and 15 from Amazon digitally. My only concern using steam is that if a patch causes more problems than fixing some, how to roll back to the previous version.

if you right click your game in the Steam library and go to properties then select the Betas tab you can select the version you want if you have problems with latest patch they still have all previous versions available on there

Get it direct from Giants, no middle man, so no awaiting their approval for whatever, no additional software, no nonsense

Most cheaper for PC is to get some digital download, not DVD version.
FS19 steam key will cost you 22.5€, most cheaper one, from allkeyshop. I have purcached all my steam games from there.
