Machinry loses value FAST

Post by Ugelvig »

Am I the only one having issues with the value of my machinery to drop really fast?

At this rate I should lease the darn machinery instead... :hmm:

4 days and 30 hours, and the Fendt 515C is worth around 20% from new. At that rate I will never survive as a farmer... :hmm:

people keep forgetting that 1 in game day = 365 real days. So your Fendt 515C is already 4 going on 5 years old..

I know that. But in game that it not a lot of driving before the machinery isn't worth anything. Especially if I want to change it for bigger and newer machinery...

Each machinery has in own life counted by the hours you operate it, why they would count hours if your machinery was garbage after 5 in-game days anyway? The value should be calculated by the operating hours not by ingame time which doesn't reflect if you drive 100 meters with 1x speed or 120x speed, or does driving 100 meters destroy/loose value of your machinery 120 times more than on 1x speed? Doesn't make too much sense

if u go out and buy a new car irl, in 5 years time which equates to 5 game days, the car isn't worth nearly as much.. consumer economics 101

well its not just operating hours.. its simple fact that if u buy a brand new 2019 car, the very moment u drive it off the dealership lot it has depreciated in value by a fair amount.. depending on make model and purpose (passenger vs commercial) it can depreciate by as much as 1/3 or more of the total value at that moment

Its not really 1 = 365, its more like 2 = 365 IF your playing on fast growth

I sowed my fields the morning of every fourth day in FS15 and 17 to help me stay organized, Slow Growth, so a year was three full days.

Never ever would I sow on the same day I harvested. The fields needed some rest, and the afternoon of the third day was worth about two or three months in a three-day year.

Just wait for seasons, it will fix this "issue"

^^^Ding ding ding! We have a winner^^^

I've never equated a game day to a year myself. Maybe 3 months or so, but not a year. I've never cultivated, sown, harvested, repeated in one game day even without seasons. But that's just me and has nothing to do with the OP's concern.
FS22 is the best one yet. Fight me!

If you feel the repair rate is to high just change your dirt setting to low or off. It reduces it quite a bit on low, and eliminates it on off. For the most part this game plays like you want it to play.
