Westbridge Hills: Time to retire it?

Post by FarmingRemasterd »

Alrighty guys, but i loaded up westbrige hills on fs 19 the other day and it just didnt feel right, ive played the hell outta it, but i keep coming back to it because its a classic, anyone else feel that they have worn out a map by playing it over like 2 or 3 games? it just doesnt feel the same as the first version. i never played it in 13 but 15 was my favorite.

It needs a good rework, but make it have the same feel to it

Agreed. I think, with a good top-to-bottom overhaul with new textures and all the current game features, it would still be a good map. In fact, I’m inclined to think it might lend itself to “create your own farm” pretty well. And I still think it is the most “US-like” map that Giants has managed to date.

I've played Westbridge Hills on 13 ,15,and 17 and i think that with a good rework it might be a whole lot better.

Time to retire a bunch of things that keep getting recycled over and over from 13 to 15 to 17 and now 19.

Where are all the new never before seen maps and machinery that FS19 deserves and should have for all platforms?

There's loads in production. People have only had GE8 for a few weeks and its more complicated making mods now. It'll take time. I'm about half way through an FS-19 map.

I feel what really messed up the map for me is that they kept dumping all the features from newer games into the one corner (ie saw mill and heat plant) If they would've been spread out better it would've give the map a new feel

I still rate WBH, it plays well with the bigger equipment and the AI workers in FS19.

Though I am actually playing American Outback mostly at the moment since I never played it much in FS17.

American outback has been transferred over without SOMS2’s permission, so effectively stolen.

Arthur Chapman was doing a play through on YouTube when SOMS2 got in touch to tell him. Check out the video on his new map ‘tombstone’
