I use the cotton trailers. They pick up the bales. I have not yet tried non-cotton trailers or other tools to transport them because i have not yet done a cotton field large enough to yield more than a few bales.

I'm on pc and I've been using a gooseneck trailer attached to a semi, cant strap them down though but if you're careful enough, you won't have any problems hauling them. I moved 5 at once the other day. Wheelloaders can pick them up pretty easy. I've tried using a tractor but they won't budge.

Re: Loading cotton bales onto trailers
Anything other than the cotton trailers is very unrealistic. The modules are only held together via compaction, if you tried to lift one with a loader at best you would tear it in half, but more than likely would cause it to just fall to pieces...
