^^This^^. We need Westbridge back. Probably the best map Giants ever made. Another thing is that because it's so plain and open it would be really easy to create a nice big farm with the terraforming tool.

Fairly certain Westbridge is in there somewhere...probably.

I don't think Giants' maps are bad. They need to make maps that the average user can play and be happy with. As for thrash: people kept saying the maps were so empty lifeless, so Giants added scenic filling. Cant blame them for that.

I loved Coldborough Park Farm (even with driving on the wrong side of the road) a lot. That to me is what I want in a map, smaller fields, challenging, only one sell point for stuff. Right now I am on Zweisternhof_GP which I modded a bit myself. I am looking forward to getting the Knezmost again for when I want to do big farming (Follow Me mod required, I got really good at using this to use three harvesters at once side by side).

I've been playing Felsburnn because I don't like Ravenport and the more I play Felsburnn, the more I am convinced both maps are trash. All the places to sell crops are hard to get in and out of and there is an excessive amount of guardrails and immovable objects near the road.

I won’t go so far as to say the map is complete trash, but I do agree it is NOT an accurate representation of typical American farm landscape. I live in the Midwest in the US, smack dab in the middle of it, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and I can tell you this map is no where close.

Giants has never got an American map in this game correct. I don’t remember what the American map was in FS15, it had huge fields, but virtually every field on that map was on an insanely steep slope. In the 3 states I just mentioned, farmland and fields are virtually 100% flat and massive.

Giants, if you want to represent the American farm land, take a couple thousand dollars out of the massive profit you’ve made from your games of late, buy a plane ticket, fly to this country, visit the American heartland, rent a helicopter or plane and takes notes!!

You know the saying, “if you’re not going to do it right, then don’t do it at all”.

It based in California apparently, now California has huge fields. The problem here is you can't please every American based on the location they are from. Some want Midwest, Some want East coast etc

I’ve seen the majority of people that complain about it wanting it to look like Indiana/Illinois and I can’t blame them since I live there. The map it self doesn’t seem to be american farmland based and seems more like someone made LA farmground. What most american farmers think of when they think farming is 1 mile square fields as far the eye can see except for the occasional tree line or fence row or creek bottom. That is american farming.

I would say most people in the US relate to the farm field landscape to the Midwest. It’s why it’s called America’s Heartland because it’s mostly rural and farming communities.

California is the last state in this country anyone would consider to be the poster child for our farming back bone.

My guess, Giants did decided to come here to get an idea of what our farming landscape looked like. When the plane landed in LAX, they walked out of the airport and asked, “ok what state do we want to visit to check things out?” Reply: “Ehhh, we’re already in this one, it’s good enough”. LOL

The thing is though, California has a HUGE percentage of revenue from farming. Personally, I live in Georgia, where some of the farm land is flat and vast but there’s also forests and stuff within a mile or two of farms, so Ravenport. It’s kind of unfair to say giants made a bad map because it’s not like what you see.

I think they hit a home run with Westbridge Hills in FS15. It had a lot of different field sizes. The sell points were interesting. There was no extra stuff on the map, and more importantly no trash. The drive-in and ball park were used for missions, and were a nice touch.
Giants should use WBH as a model when developing maps for the base game.

California may be the highest, but of all the states that generate at least $10 billion in revenue, everyone of them is from the Midwest with the exception of California and North Carolina. Nobody thinks if North Carolina either when asked what is the most widely known vision of American farming. California is probably the highest revenue due to export being a coastal state to other countries.

If you want accurate visual representation in this game, you go by the demographic area the farming community is known for in this country, and that’s the Midwest.

When people think of California, they think of LA, mountains and forest, Beverly Hills. Those are the things people visualize about California, they don’t think farming meca by any means,

I finally started a game on Ravenport last night. I honestly don't get the fuss. I grew up in the heartland and o have driven all over the middle of the US. and I can say with certainty that the map is not out of line with the amount of trash and junk.

That said, I'm not a fan of what I would consider unnecessary "decoration". It could be cleaner from a perspective of frame rate and performance, but the junk is not that bad.

All in all, I like the map and I am looking forward to enjoying building a farm on it.

I can vouch for this..I have a rather large cattle outfit here in western North Carolina. I went to a convention in Missouri a few years back and people acted astonished when I told them where I was from. They had no idea about the amount of farming that goes on here. We actually have one of the biggest John Deere dealers in the southeast here!

When I think of farming in the U.S., I think of corn. The US is the largest corn producer in the world, with 96,000,000 acres (39,000,000 ha) of land reserved for corn production. Corn growth is dominated by west/north central Iowa and east central Illinois. Soybeans are also widely raised in this area of the country, as are hay, wheat, rye, oats and grain sorghum.

Texas had the most farms in the United States in 2017 followed by Missouri and Iowa. Texas had more farms than Missouri and Iowa combined. California is ranked fifth in the nation, so while I can understand why they would have based their map there, there are other areas they could have chosen.

Agreed, have been disappointed with the FS19 maps, was also hoping they would be larger.
Also spent most of my time farming Modder created maps on FS17.
