Stealing harvest from contracts

I have noticed that you can start a contract for harvesting, dump the product in your own silo and then cancel the contract for a mean little profit.

Lot of people have noticed this and using this "free" money. As long as giants does not change it.

It has given me a whole new aspect to the game

Does anyone know what the outcome is if you complete a harvesting contract and don't sell the product in a trailer?

I feel I can make a new save game and just take 10% of the yield as a fixed price before delivery and then possibly just cancel the contract for no payment

I tried to steal harvest to test it out. Once you complete the mission, you get charged for the grain you steal.

That's why you need to cancel after you have finished the harvest, if you press complete, you get fined.

No, it's when I hit cancel. You can't hit complete as there is no option to on a mission you didn't complete.

Cancel or complete it makes no difference. You cannot accept another contract until you pay back the missing crops. Ask me how I know

I've cancelled missions early without delivering the crops and I get fined, so I dont know how you're doing it. I cancelled one just yesterday, a potato harvest that was gonna take alot longer than I thought and I kept the grain and I got fined 15k.

What's this fine I see mentioned here? I tried it... nothing happened, money still the same amount plus I have a ton of cereals after cancelling the mission with grain in my trailer

You've cancelled the mission. When you cancelled the mission, the mission screen shows failed and a figure for 'missing crops'. To get another mission you have to 'collect' that mission reward from the missions screen which will deduct the figure for the missing crops from your total.

This doesn’t seem to apply to baling contracts however. No penalty for ‘misplacing’ the bales.
