Is anyone still playing On FS17?

Post by Blademaster »

I appreciate all that Giants have done. I gave 19 a shot, and I will continue to do so periodically. But IMHO 17 and The West Coast is just more comfortable and fun right now. Is there anyone else still playing FS17?

I think there’s still a fair amount of people on lone oak running seasons
Ps4 realistic gameplay;
Ravenport start-from-scratch;
Absolutely love the game!

Quite honestly, no. I thought I'd go back to it after seeing early reactions, but I can't imagine going back now. Yes, there are still a few issues, but it's a lot better than it was, and now that mods have started coming through, it's only going to get better. Just my opinion though. Saying that, FS17 is still a great game. If I got on with Seasons, I'd probably still be playing FS17, but ironically, I now can't wait for Seasons on FS19. The way game play has changed for me means i think i will really enjoy Seasons on 19.

Thanks to all modders, we do really love you, even though we don't always show it.

I am still playing 4 maps on 17 and loving every minute.

19 looks pretty but without Seasons, More Realistic, Gearbox, GPS, Ground Response, AI Extension, and about 25 other mods, it feels like a hollow shell or a not-very-bright cousin of 17. The few new features in basic 19 over basic 17 are interesting, but pale in comparison to what I have to give up if I were to switch away from 17 the way I have it configured now.

Maybe in 12 or 18 months it will have all the features available in 17. Until then I commend its graphical improvements but I continue to be extremely pleased playing 17.

I'm on RDR2 right now but once I'm feeling finished with that, chances are that I go back to fs17. Not without trying 19 again though. It'll probably take a good couple of months before I remove that RDR2 disc from my ps4 so there might have come a couple of good maps and updates for 19 by then.. Hopefully the enginesounds gets some updating because they su**. Sry to say it but that's a fact..

Yes, just went back to Oakfield a few days ago. And I am bummed about it too, there are so many improvements that came with FS19, it truly is a big step forward from FS17. But, I just am so annoyed with the engine sounds, and the lack of throttle control, acceleration, etc in FS19, I cannot get into it. I feel like I am driving a giant piece of wood around, there is no life or realism in the vehicles sounds or interaction. I keep hoping there will be improvements to this, because when I went back to 17 the vehicle controls are great, the engine has good dynamics under load and when going downhill, etc.

I used to play multiplayer with both my brother and cousin on fs17. Then we all got fs19 and we all played multiplayer for the first couple weeks, but the last couple weeks my cousin since has gone back to playing his football game and fs17 because he said fs19 is not as fun. My brother has started playing forza and doesnt play with me as much anymore and said he is considering bringing it back to gamestop to trade it for another game. I still play fs19 but feel like there is still a whole lot missing from the game when it comes to equipment for me to truly enjoy playing this game as I would like too, and tired of the random crashes and a couple bugs are still "bugging me" lol, but I won't give up on fs19 though as I know there will be more updates and alot of mods coming that will make the game better over time.

I'm still on FS17. Have had two winters now on Lone Oak Farm with snow that I had to clear. This last spring was so cold that the only crop I could plant was soybeans in "June". Playing FS as a "machine arcade game" without this farming realism is of no interest to me. So until there is seasons, follow me, etc., I really don't care about starting a farm in 19. I fiddled with 19 again last week trying to get some decent graphics performance, but gave up. Impossible for me to get anything even close to what I have in 17, and no thanks to GIANTS for giving users any help or guidelines at all in this area. The stuttering shawdows alone are just ruining it. And coping with that to get birds and better looking machinery and a "build you farm" thing (something I really looked forward to!) that seems to be half-finished is not enough. If at least the things they released (despite being short of new features compared to 17) had worked, then maybe I would find it more interesting. Setting up controllers is still a mess on macOS. Just having to restart the game everytime you change a setting... Really? Seriously? I don't have to do that in any other game I play except FS. And this long chaotic list of commands that gives you zero help when programming controllers... Is this the best they could do? And it still rains inside buildings? And they added birds but no wild game in the nature? AI traffic still as advanced and realistic as in any computer game from 20 years ago? Etc... Even if I find a solution to the really bad graphics performance, I guess it will be several months before there are enough mods out for 19 to make it an interesting realistic farming experience for me. Especially maps, where moders have added "realism" and "feel" that is lacking in the base game.

Yes.... I jump back and fourth. I figure I put so much time in on a few maps it seems a waste if I just quit. Plus I play on xbox and have a few copies and play with my family. Not complaining about the price, but a little bit too expensive for me to buy 3 more copies right now.

I am still happily playing 17 as from my brief flirtations with 19 I can not see that changing until some good maps appear and most importantly for me seasons. I know from reading the seasons post they are working hard on it and my comment is in no way aimed at the time it will take them too achieve what they did with 17. I will be happy how ever long it takes them to do and I really appreciate what they bring to the game.

I am still playing on fs17 - lone oak with seasons. I just really enjoy seasons. I like all the mods and it just works great. I think fs19 is great too though. I am just still really enjoying 17 and kinda waiting for some new maps I like and seasons for 19. I am sure I will switch soon.

I still play 17. Was lucky enough to get a refund for 19 when I discovered they removed some of the things I have enjoyed over the years. Hopefully 21 will be more to my liking. For those sticking with 19, kudos to you, giants is fortunate to have so many forgiving customers.

Q: What exactly is the issues with logging in 19? Seen many players complain here in the forums, but can't really get a grip on why... I really enjoy logging in the "winter time", so that is yet another thing that makes wonder when/if I will start playing 19...
