Forestry - Infuriating!
Forestry - Infuriating!
Currently only using a chainsaw/telehandler with log fork for logs. Obviously you can pick up the smaller logs but those don't bring in the most cash. Anyone have any suggestions other than attempting to capture a log with the nearly useless log fork? So frustrating!!!
Re: Forestry - Infuriating!
Sadly Giants doesn't seem to really care about the forestry aspect and it's a big part of some farms in the real world like in winter months and even summer months pending the type of farm they have. KOMATSU is a nice edition but we need more and better equipment and the forestry needs some physics work.

Hello
Logging can indeed be challenging, but patience is a must.
With your setup I would recommend the manurefork for the telehandler.

Re: Forestry - Infuriating!
It's something that takes time and practice. I learned the more I do it, the better I become. And it takes patience. I learned when I have a "I just gotta get this done quick" attitude, Murphy's Law takes over. If I have a "I'm gonna take a few hours and cuts these trees down" attitude, it's quite pleasant.

Re: Forestry - Infuriating!
I’ll say it again and again and again, use that new kesla log trailer and a skid steer. (either the tracked newholland or one of the jcb’s) It will take some getting used to but it is the best log fork in the game. I’m grabbing every 6m log from my little sampo, seriously these things are absolute beast machines. Just keep at it and eventually you’ll get better

Just using the in game stuff. you can log like mad.
Use the Ponsse Scorpion cut logs to 5m and then the Man TGX 26.640 truck to load and haul the logs. Get good at using the TGX 26.640 and you can load the truck in less then 5 min

And if you really want to log , learn to modify the the mods to make them do what you need them to do.

Here is my Youtube channel, I learned how to modify the mods to get them to do what I need them to do. I make so much money I don't know what to do with it.

Re: Forestry - Infuriating!
It honestly just takes practice. I’ll try it, get mad, then eventually come back to it.
Last night on Grizzly Mountain I cut 30 trees with the Komatsu and made two neat piles with a skid steer in probably 1.5 hours. Could’ve loaded it in the same time but was trying to make a cool screenshot.

I’ve shied away from logging so far in fs19 but love the new skidder been cutting a few trees just to skid them!
Re: Forestry - Infuriating!
Hey guys. I do have a question for you all. So I'm trying to get back into logging in FS on my Xbox One and I have a decent little setup for it. My only gripe is that when I start getting a full load in my trailer, the frame rate plummets tremendously. Is that just a "me" thing or do you guys know of any kind of workaround to prevent that? It doesn't happen until I get about 5-10 feet from the trailer like I'm "agitating" the logs. Lol. In FS17, it wasn't that bad to be honest and I mean my "workaround" for 17 was to try not to make big piles of logs. That worked extremely well when I was dragging piles of logs to the landing and just dropping them in little piles of 3-4 logs. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance guys!

I'm having a lot of success using the biobeltz log fork mod. It works great.

Cut down only enough trees for one load, this is what I mostly do, if it’s still dropping frames idkKruelkamo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 1:06 am Hey guys. I do have a question for you all.
