Loading Mods fs19

Which is the right way to get map or any mod into fs19, I end up with two the same in the game one installed and the other update, I get the mod off a site in WinRAR open up documents/games/fs19/mods copy the mod over make a new folder and name it, copy the mod into the folder extract it here, now if I leave the WinRAR in there it does not show in the game, if I take it out it does not show in the game, but if I click the back arrow and put WinRAR in there it works ok, just watch a video and there seems to be a few ways to load them, in the reason I am asking is my mods folder has a load of WinRAR folders and mod folders in it and its taking a lot of space up, I have up to 20 maps loaded and about 15 mods everything works ok
