TMR

Post by Poizonous »

Just wondering what ratio everyone uses, preferably for the larger Anderson mixer. I use 3 hay, 3 silage and 2 straw. But most of the last bale is wasted, so looking for a better ratio.

Just an "cheat" you might not know, you don't have to use straw. I do a fifty/fifty ratio. But I have moved up to and Anderson's yet.

I knew "cheat" yes, just adds a little more realism thats all. Once I start using clamp silage, I guess it"ll be a lot easier to do a proper ratio without wasting much.

I'm pretty sure it's a 50/50 mix so if you don't want to put straw in you don't have too.
Have been playing FS since FS 2011 came out and still going strong. *thumbsup*

I use the smaller anderson mixer and I mix it right from the silo in Woodshire. I start with 7000 straw, between 8 and 9 k Silage and fill up with hay. Even if I don't "have" to use straw I will because it makes the tmr cheaper. As I own the bga I it gives me 6300 $ for that not used Silage. And I am not even talking about the oats which I don't Need to get the straw...

When using bales and the larger Anderson mixer you could also not put the last bale in to not waste it. I put 2 straw and then 2 and 3 of hay and silage, deciding which one to do 3 of upon what I have laying about.

I use 2 bales of straw , 2 bales of grass and then 5 big buckets full of loose from the silo

Thats on the big anderson trailor i tried

Then i decided to go back to the silo king as its easier . 1 grass , 1 straw and then drive the siloking into the silo and fill it with the auto filler

Back when I did TMR with the peacon in 17 I just did 50/50, was a lot quicker then throwing in straw. Kind of a quick and dirty solution.

Just mixed 250K of TMR on Woodshire using a 60/40 silage/hay mix. Was using the big Anderson mixer just parked in the already loaded silo. Makes life pretty simple just park - load - and then unload and you have a silo of TMR ready to go.

I modified the Strautmann VM 1702 to hold x4. Instead of 17,000L now it holds 68,000L but I only use 64,000L.
I also modified my baler for 8,000L bales.

I use the VM 1702 like this :

2 bales of straw (16,000L)
2 bales of silage (16,000L)
4 bales of hay (32,000L)
