[Solved] question about hay equipment

i don't know the English term for this, so i'll put a pic. is the following equipment absolutely necessary to get hay

That is a tedder, and yes you need that to make hay.

It depends what platform you are on. If you play on console then yes a Tedder is necessary. I believe on PC there is a silo that will convert grass to hay but not sure which mod it is as I play on console.

In the game, yes, they are required to make hay.

In real life, no. Growing up, we would turn the pile two to three times with an old New Holland windrower. And if you won't be having rain for a while you can just let it dry out on its own. Tedders can be used to speed up the process.

Exactly this. I believe seasons is going to change this. In real life they only run tedders on occasion here. Usually they just double rake if need be.
