Thats a pi** poor attitude to have in my opinion, and yes everyone will have one BUT out of sheer respect for the work put into these maps FOR FREE you should support these modders.

I'm not a friend of BBs but I am a respectful supporter, if he decides to only do fs17 maps then so be it, just because he doesnt like some aspects of fs19 doesnt mean people should give him or his modding mates ****.

Hes already given permission for some of his maps to be converted by trusted friends and the community should respect that.

Whether I get to play another of BBs creations like the hundreds of hours played on fs17 is up to him on whether he releases another and I hope he does, what he and the others did for fs17 was amazing and much more than Giants could do alone.
Just because someone has done good work does not free them from criticism of their actions. You can respect a modder for the work they do, but also call them out on their actions. I will say I don't FB, so I'm not up on all the drama, which I'm ok with.

But I’m just so tired of BulletBill and his holyer than thou attitude. He acts like a child and loves to rub things in your face that you don’t have.
What things is he rubbing into my face? He's doing private mods for himself and friends. So what? He puts it on his own Facebook page - so what? If I put a photo of my aeroplane on my FB page, am I rubbing that into your face?
wiseguy49 wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2019 2:11 pm So for those of you still supporting this guy, look at the post on Facebook when he was asked about map making. He responded saying he hates 19 and he’s only making 17 maps for his friends.
So why not hate on him for not making maps for FS15? Or FS2013 ...? Why does he have to make maps for anyone, ever?
wiseguy49 wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2019 2:11 pm So for all of you giving him good comments because you think you’ll have another map from him, think again. And tell him what you really think.
I don't think we will get another map from BB - I don't think anyone does. It's not about that.
And I will tell him what I really think: "It's wrong for anyone to take a mod - any mod, from anyone - and re-upload it, edited/hacked about or not, without the original author's agreement."

fenixguy wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2019 2:40 pm According to Giants' User Generated Content Terms and Conditions, any mod made for the game is basically the property of Giants since the modder is using Giants Editor and the game itself to create the mod.
Pretty sure that changed with FS17 and the in-game ModHub. As I remember what you posted was correct for FS15 and earlier though.

It even says this in the footer of the mods page:
All user generated contents on ModHub are properties of their respective creators. We are not responsible for these user generated contents or any damage they may cause to your game. If you think your user generated content or parts of it are on ModHub without your consent, please contact us. abuse@giants-software.com

Fenixguy, your analogy works somewhat. It works great for reskins or mods where someone takes an in game asset and changes it. Makes a US version of a EU vehicle, etc. But for map makers to use your analogy it would be like taking a painting off the wall. covering the whole surface with green paint and then painting your own landscape on top of it. Sure you might be using the original artists bushes but you likely brought your own brushes also. And maybe you used some of the original artiest paint and pigments but you brought your own paints and pigments also. Then add to that the creators that create their own models in Blender or Maya and then import those models into GE for use in a map or as a vehicle or implement.

Yes the TOS does say any mod created with GE Giants has some rights to as their tool was used to 'in game' the mod but Giants themselves will tell you that the copyright holder is the creator of the original work.

 It's not my analogy, I just copied it off the internet so it has to be true!

Best to just stick with mods on the official mod hub and if there is an issue, let Giants sort it out. I have no time or desire to care about "modder drama". I play the game because it relaxes me.
