D'oh! The description of the graphics card even says HDMI in it! Thanks for pointing that out, I feel like a Wally now! I've also switched to a plain old wired connection instead of a wifi one. I don't particularly need wifi as my router is about 3 feet from where the PC will go. As to the memory, the motherboard only supports upto 2666mhz DDR4, but I can always look into changing that as well. Thanks for the advice guys, it's really helpful!

If you have a definite need then keep it in, if not dump it as its more space in the case used up, possibly more cables, and probably more heat being generated reducing the performance of your rig. I stripped my machine back to basics when I switched cases recently - DVD drive? gone. 3.5in HDDs? gone. USB expansion hub? gone (well, actually just switched for a PCI-E that doesn't need power). Be brutal.

Is it ok or «weird» with such a widescreen monitor?

Btw, my graphicscard needs to be replaced. Think I have a Asus 960ti now.. 2060 is maybe a better solution

Hey all!

Due to a slight budgetary issue (Oh, for a real life money cheat!) I've had to lower my specs a bit. I'm looking at a prebuilt now and was wondering if this one would do the job still?

Intel Core i5-9400F Processor (6 Cores, 2.90GHz Base, 4.10GHz Turbo, 9MB Cache)
H310 Chipset Motherboard
16GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM
240GB SATA-III SSD
1TB 7200RPM SATA-III HDD
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Graphics Card

The link to the full description is My budget is now between £700 and £750 (UK) so if you guys are aware of anything more suitable any recommendations would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

It's decent though I went and parted it on pcpartpicker and it was about $150 cheaper. In your new budget I did however build this which is at the top end of your budget excluding the case and windows (since you can get windows actually pretty cheap)

I would go with the f version as it's usually £20-30 cheaper and drop the Z390 as its non overclockerable chip to save a potential £60-80

On pcpartpicker I haven't been able to find the f version which is why I listed the standard 9400.

The motherboard would indeed save a little bit if you switch it, in my own opinion though, I'd still get a newer board in case you decide to upgrade the CPU later down the line. That was just my thought process.

When building a PC it’s usually better to think into the future, making each part you buy won’t lock you into the system you have, so a Z370 board is a decent idea since If you buy an overclockable CPU, you don’t have to buy a new motherboard to really get the full benefits of it

Yeah I get you on future upgrade ability I was just thinking past 9th gen as 10th gen is rumoured to be out q1/q2 of next year which requires a new mobo again so that was my thought process

Well yeah, but it’s good for future proofing and there’s tons of information on google and YouTube, so it’s not too hard to figure out what you’re doing

Ok, hopefully the last question! (Actually, it's probably not!) I've been looking around and I can get an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 based system with 3000mhz DDR4 (as opposed to the 2400mhz stuff in my previous post). It's about the same price, but I'm not sure which one to go for. In the tests I've looked at, the Ryzen seems to do well on multi-core games, but I'm sure I read that FS19 only uses a single core, so would an i5 be better? If it helps, I'm also interested in learning to mod, so I'm guessing I need a 3d modelling application.
