John Deere 645FD header trailer

Post by tbh4419 »

Has anyone else had any problems getting their John Deere header to stay on the header trailer? I’ve been using the Quattro 40 header trailer for my John Deere 645FD headers and just about every time I put the headers on the trailers I get halfway down the road and they suddenly slide off. I’ve been using this same setup for a long time and never had this problem until about a week ago and now it’s a constant problem. I’ve been making sure that the header is centered on the trailer correctly and everything but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Just wondering if it’s a glitch of some kind or maybe I’m just an *$#%§*. Lol

Agree with Walrus. That header fits on the Elmers trailer like a champ. A much better looking trailer too.

[Stupid Question] Are you by chance putting it on backwards? Its supposed to be loaded from the low side first, where it attaches is on the low side. That could be potentially be causing it to slide.

They had an auto lock on feature for headers on trailers (at least the base games ones) I once parked two header trailers close together and then when I got ready for the next harvest couldn’t make either trailer budge with my truck, I had to get my quadtrack to pull one of the trailers forward and when I did the second header pulled forward too separate of its trailer and floated until it must’ve reached the limit of the lock range and fell to the ground, should note I was using the biggest in game header trailers one holding the 35ft ideal head the other the 45ft jd head

So the Elmers trailer has been a godsend just as described lol. No I wasn’t putting the header on backwards either lol. But since I’ve started using the Elmers trailer I haven’t had any problems. Also, I agree with the capello corn headers. Luckily they can be painted JD green so at least they match the combine lol.

Seems like the header trailers have been dodgy from about the time of the last update. I've noticed they've been unreliable for a while, too.

C'mon guys. Getting an attached 45' header through narrow one-way streets surrounded by trees and fences while avoiding getting punted into low-earth orbit by an oncoming sedan is what makes this simulator a game!
