Re: Horses.

I agree with the above comment that riding around on other people's horses for less of an hourly rate than practically any other activity in the game....has made the already woefully shallow gameplay involving horses even shallower.

Please, for the love of God, have a re think. I mean.....I know it's kinda beyond the scope of seasons to introduce different breeds of horse, including dirty great big horses like Shires that could pull a plow.....and putting in all kinds of horse drawn farming equipment to play with.....yes I know, I'm dreaming but it's good to dream.

What about allowing horse breeding in the same way other livestock breed?

Or allowing training in speed, stamina and agility and having randomised competition results (off screen obvs......maybe with a 'job' to transport the horse to the competition area?) that effects the value of the horse and / or value of any offspring of said champion horse?

With the animals being listed individually with the Seasons mod, if you have a lot of animals, a lot of animal pens, that screen becomes incredibly difficult and long to scroll, navigate and manage.
What he said.

I tried counting my sheep to see how close to the pen limit I was getting but I fell asleep before I got a total...

Seemingly animal screen extended works fine with seasons.

Question regarding weed:
Does weed die in winter or can it resist the cold? I currently play a organic farming game, so no fertilizer or herbicide. I do not want to test it and maybe get a loss in harvest in the next year. but if i can ignore the weed after the second harvest each year i not have to park a tractor with a weeder there all the time and use it for other things.

Do you actually ride your horses or do you use a mod to take them riding?
I personally don't use horses at all as they are per now. However, I find the idea of a multi year investment in breeding them for the possibility of a high turnaround very intriguing. Any real purpose for playing a map for several years in seasons is very welcome.

Dairy cows are also a multi-year investment now: you buy them, they need to get pregnant. Then 9 months to give birth, at which point they start producing milk. It will be a while before they produced enough to pay back their initial payment.

Don't know if I can ask, but do you think you can add moisture to straw? I know I'd already asked for, but when I was working on my dad's farm, we have to use a tedder to help straw dry faster, prior to bale it.

Baling wet straw will have it to rot really fast and it won't be usable.

So that's why i'm asking. Just a "more realistic" addon.

thanks for all your work. I really enjoy playing with Seasons.

Harvesting soybeans with seasons.

Post by Electsilver8 »

Does anybody else have problems harvesting soybeans? Everytime I plant soybean, by the time it's ready, it rains every day and it stops when my crops are withered. I've changed to Canola now, with no issues, but soybeans are a pain.

Seasons and tree packs

Post by Codewell »

I used the forum search function before asking this and couldn't find an answer. Do any of the tree pack mods that are out now work with Seasons mod? I'd like to add some trees to my farm but don't want to find out 20 trees in that they don't work and then I have to cut them all down. Thanks for any help.

I don't think any of the pack has been edited to be season ready as of now.

Modders will need to update it (if they want to).

i haven't gotten to harvest yet. I do remember something similar happening in FS17. If memory serves me right it only happened during the first harvest. During the second year spring was warmer and I was able to plant the soybeans earlier. From what I gather the default geo for season is based on the UK making it harder for soybeans. Once we start getting some other geos released I doubt you'd have any problems.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what I do wrong. I want to remove the snow from my map but the command doesnt work.

This is what Im trying to do:

Commands supplied by Seasons
The following commands are supplied by Seasons and useful for testing maps and other mods.

Change height of snow
Add or remove a single layer of snow, or remove all snow.

Usage: ssAddSnow, ssRemoveSnow, ssResetSnow

Here's what I do:
1. Activate developer tool by pressing ~
2. Press again type in those command press enter
3. Message says command not found.

Do I need to type something else before the command?

Thanks
