FDR Logging & Grizzly Mountain

Post by iB055 »

As they don't offer much information on their FB page and have never responded to questions or comments regarding Grizzly Mountain since its release, does anyone on this forum know if they plan to update Grizzly Mountain to correct some issues as well as prepare it for seasons?

I'm only curious and hoping its not just going to be a one hit wonder with no additional support.

It will not be updated. FDR Logging will only update it on his own site for PC players.

An alternative for now would be Willamina Forest. It has the same setup as GM in regards to logging with farming possible and currently pending testing for seasons update. You will also find it will probably run smoother than GM. If your looking for seasons support I would wait until 1.2.0.0 version.

Well that is unfortunate news about GM. I feel they could have at least corrected some of the issues before abandoning it but I do understand it is their choice. Seasons for consoles is still a ways off from really being a concern of mine in regards to GM although now learning that it will not be updated, I no longer have a reason to continue progress on GM as some of the issues are game breakers for me and my play style.

Don't get me wrong though I like Willamina for logging however I prefered the layout of GM for both logging and farming as well as the overall look and feel.

Just so I'm perfectly clear, GM will not be updated for Seasons on console?

Need some pedestrians around the town on Willamina. I like it but dang it feels dead doing the map solo.
Best FDR maps were Smoky and PI. You gonna do any maps similar to those?
Thanks.

What are the issues on Grizzly Mountain? I'm a couple of hours into a new savegame on it, but if there are game breaking problems I'll switch to Willemina.

The thing that won't work without the seasons update is the outdoor crop destruction.

Seasons will still work in regards to snow. Its just not optimized perfectly but you will still get deep snow. If the seasons mask doesn't exist it will use the tip collision instead. The thing I don't like about the tip collisions compared to the mask is how large the squares for the tip collisions are which means there are a lot of open areas that snow won't apply to because of the tip collision. In comparison, the seasons mask seems to be close to 9 squares vs the tip collision's 1 square so it easier to keep the snow close to buildings.

So if FDR will not update Grizzly for consoles would they at least grant permission to someone else in order to update it and fix the issues for the Mod Hub for all players to continue to enjoy?

Hopefully you get a response. I've asked them several questions on YouTube since grizzly was released and never once gotten a response.
