Game Locks - CoursePlay

I'm kind of perplexed by this weird problem, especially since I have about (8) hours on the Yogiland_EN_OY v1 map. I spent some time setting a up a few placeables, and then I create some course with CP, but never used them. After I had my farm setup and ready to go, I harvested (3) fields, mowed (2) meadows, and collected the grass using CoursePlay (v6.01.00236) with zero issues. You know how FS can pull you in, next thing I know yesterday I had (5) hours in the game. I spent the last (30) minutes in the game doing chores and setting up for stuff today. I saved and exited the game, then a few hours later I wanted to just look a few field states, as to whether they were going to require plowing or lime. But when I fired up the map, about 10 - 15 seconds after hitting start, the game does a weird lock.

1. You can't Alt+tab to the Windows desktop, if you use Ctrl+alt+del and open the task manager, you can never select the Giant Engine to kill it, the only option is to Ctrl+alt+del, and logout of Windows.

2. So first thing I thought was, my save game file had become corrupt, but after going back to several older files, still the same lockup. I’ve wait with the game locked for up to (10) minutes, if you do get to the desktop, its dead, nothing functions from it or the taskbar.

3. So then I removed all mods, started a new save game, and with v6.01.00236 running, FS still locks after hitting the Start. I then went to Git Hub and got the latest version (v6.01.00279 ), same lockup.

I have a map that has been opened and closed multiple times over the last few days, with several hours using the mod, the CP mod installed and auto- reading fields from the first launch, to all of sudden my current map with zero mods won't launch with any previous save game files, and I even deleted the (2) CP xml files in the save game folder, so CP would have to generate new files, but the map still locks up at launch.

It appears not to be the game, because I can load other maps from their save game running CP, and the maps loads and runs without issue.

I mystified and perplexed by having (8) hours into Yogiland with CP running, and have zero hiccups, to suddenly it won’t launch, locks, even with a new save game. If I remove the CoursePlay mod, have all my other mods installed, then the map fires right up from my last (newest) save game file.

I have never used CP in FS19 so I can't help you much. But there are different versions of CP, beta, dev etc. Yesterday was updated to v6.01.00279

If you read my post you will see I ran (2) different versions, the one being the latest release. I've run CP about for a few months now with 19, on several maps, and other than little bugs, never had any real issues. The game's AI is so stupid, if I run CP, I no longer have to worry about the AI leaving the field they are on, driving across to another field, and destroying it. Plus I can do all my mowing and baling with CP, and we know the AI can't mess with grass or hay.

There's some tool that cause Courseplay to make this type of thing randomly. All of these were mods (even modhub mods)

Big bag lifter is one of them. When attached in front of a tractor, with another tool behind, Courseplay crash hard....

I also found that somes tippers create these weird behaviour.

The fact that you removed all mods and it still doing this is weird. I would suggest to remove Courseplay from your computer, launch your save game, see if it happen. If not, save, reload courseplay and try.

I think You need to read my post from beginning to end, as I have already basically done this. The map does not crash after it loads, problem is it locks before it loads, you never make it into the map. I've have removed CP, and the Yogiland runs fine from my last saved game. Add it it, and it locks, start a new game with Yogiland, and CP being the only mod, and it locks shortly after selecting the "Start". I went from eight hours on the map with CP running and being used, to it not allowing the map to load at all in any configuration.

May be an issue with the YogiLand Map and Courseplay. If I remember rightly, Yogiland puts a lot of Production Buildings in the map, and has custom fruits and fill types i.e. Gold, Baby Food, Incense etc etc. Maybe that is just not compatible with Courseplay, which is coded to only use the default game objects, vehicle types and specialisations. If you can open up other maps fine, with courseplay and other mods, then that indicates no issue. If you have the problem only with the one map, then that points more to the map being the cause.

But did you read my entire post, if that were the case, then it would have never let me start the Yogiland map with course play. From the very first launch of Yogiland I had most of my mods running, this included CP mod, and I have about (8) hours of play time on the map with CP running and being used. These (8) hours are spread over about (4) days with multiple save and exits. Right up the the other day, when it just started locking the game after hitting Start.

Then the only other thing I can assume is, that after initially starting and playing happily on YogiLand with Courseplay, in your last game session before you started experience this issue with the Game Locking Up, you most likely purchased a vehicle, tool or other piece of equipment, or maybe bought an object/building some other placeable that is not compatible with Courseplay (Probably something with an incorrect or custom vehicle/object type or again incorrect or custom vehicle/object specialisations) and now when you try to load the Map Up and the Savegame and Courseplay does it's script to check and install itself into all the stuff in your vehicles.xml it's finding a problem and causing a fail. Previously what used to happen in Courseplay was when you were in game and bought an item or something that wasn't compatible with courseplay, when you went to save the game, or the game tried to autosave it'd lockup and get stuck in an endless save loop with the icon rotating on screen. Perhaps somewhere in a recent update they have done something to prevent this, however it now gives you no warning in game when you've done something wrong or have an incompatible mod, or if the map itself has something incompatible in it, and now it's only showing the issue when you try to load into the game.

Yeah the previous way of locking up on save was annoying, but at least you knew you'd done something wrong, and could immedately come out of game and load from your last backup savegame folder and begin to troubleshoot and re-tread your steps to discover the causes of the problem.

If you read my post you see I bought nothing nor placed nothing, after harvesting my last field via CP, I ran around doing chores getting ready to buy cattle. All I did for about 30 minutes was top off production machines to make sure they were full, and I moved equipment to fields to get read to harvest for my next session.

Hey you can do and start a new game with Zero mods and just CP, and a new game does the same lockup.

Well I tried loading my existing save game using YogiLand V19.1.EN and Courseplay 6.01.00280 and my other 140 mods in that folder and my game loaded fine with no lockup, and saved fine with no lock up.

I then exited the game, made a new mod folder, that only had YogiLand V19.1.EN and Courseplay 6.01.00280 in it, started the game and started a new savegame and it loaded fine again for me with no lockup. I can't replicate the problem you're having. The only other thing I would maybe suggest trying is re-validating/repairing your Farm Sim install if you're a steam player, if using the Giants version of the game, a full un-install and re-install to ensure no game files are corrupt or messed up. Then in your saved data folder, delete the shader cache. Delete your existing YogiLand and Courseplay mods from the mod folder and re-download those from their official sites and not 3rd Party Dodgy sites, then try launching and loading the game again. If it still locks up after that, then you just have really bad luck and have found an issue that no one else can replicate or make happen.

Glad to see we managed to get the issue fixed for you, over on the Courseplay GitHub. Guess it was one of your saved courses that had an issue which was causing the lockup when the Map and Courseplay were loading at the Map Splash Screen. For anyone else following the thread who didn't see the resolution to fix the issue:

It's worth noting that Courses you make on a map, are saved in a folder with that maps name in a folder within your saved data directory. Courses that you make and save on a map are then always available on any saved game you play with that same map, so whether you start a new game, you will still have courses from old games that you played on the same map available. This saves players having to create courses again and again, each time they start a new save on a map. However this also means should something happen to one of those course files, or a course file glitches or becomes unreadable, when you try to load up a game or save of that map the game will lock-up/crash when courseplay loads the courses as the map is loading.

1. Go to your Farming Sim 19 saved data folder, usually located at My Documents/My Games/Farming Simulator 19
2. Locate the Folder Called "CousePlay_Courses"
3. Inside this Folder will be Folders for every map you've ever played with Courseplay installed, and will contain the Courses you've made and saved whilst on those maps.
4. Locate the Folder for the Map that is causing the lock-up/crash on game start or loading and remove/delete it from the Folder.
5. Launch Farming Simulator 19 and try loading the your saved game on the map you was having issue with, or start a new save on the same map and see if the lock-up/crash has been fixed.
6. If it has that means one of the courses you made and saved previously must have had an error or become corrupted, this was causing the game to lock-up when Courseplay tries loading courses from the maps folder whilst on the map loading screen.

I did this earlier today on suggestion from the ticket I had created at GitHub CP, and it solved the issue. I kind of forgot that that folder resided @ Docs/My Games/FS.
