I was wondering with the new versions coming out quicker than I have the money to purchase them, do you get farm sim 17 when you purchase Farm sim 19???

Each version of the game improves upon the last. If you so choose to purchase all of them, go from oldest to newest when playing. Otherwise, you'll only be disappointed. Each version tends to greatly improve upon the last. FS19 did not add quite as many gameplay improvements as FS17 did in my opinion. I believe FS19 and FS17 are similar in price though. Even so, I would advise just buying FS19. From a beginner standpoint, it's the best bang for your buck.

To answer your actual question though, No. Each version of the game is its own entity.
