Hi guys,

I have a question for the hay bale specialist around here

At my ranch, I mixed a grass field with a tree farm field. have rows of trees with 6 meters between those, so I can grow grass as well.

So while the trees are growing up, I can mow the grass and collect it. I play with the Season mod, so as far as I understand, I need to use a tedder on the grass to let it dry and transform it into hay.

Question is: I would like to produce hay bales, to keep those over the winter without deteriorate. But the problem I have is that I cannot find a tedder that fits my 6 meters wide rows. Any idea how I could do this? Maybe I could collect the grass and make it dry somewhere else?

Any hint would be appreciated...

Maybe I am missing something but if there isn’t a 6m Tedder in the game, you could use a smaller one and make two passes on the grass area?

Isnt the front mower around 3m? If so you could use the mod version that puts it into a swath and put a small Tedder on the back, gets both jobs done at once.

Or just collect it all in a wagon than take it to an open area hit unload here and floor it!! Will leave a row of grass that you can then tedder however you wish

You can also pick-up the grass and use one of the GC haydryer. Love the one from the FSM team where you can put grass bales on a conveyor band and get hay bales out.

So I guess you tried the 6m tedder in the game, right? The one from Vicon?

For hay in Seasons it is all about crop moisture. You can check it with the handtool. If it is below 20% moisture I guess, cut grass will be put to ground as semi dry grass. Depending on weather this will transform into hay without a tedder after a few hours (?) Check the Seasons weather menu for information about drying conditions.

I dont see whats the problem here OP. You have a 6.0m tedder in a base game.

Tedders purpose are to flip and spread the grass around to help it dry. They are not to do a certain size row or to keep things in a row. Windrowers are for that.

This might work, Fortschritt E303 has a narrow tedder.
