Season: At which age the sheep die?

Hi guys,

I am trying to figure out at which age the sheep are dying (for the 4 different types). The idea is to keep a bunch of adult that generate lambs and sell those. But I do understand that at some point they will die if I let them grow too old. So I would rather sell those before it happens.

Any hints?

I would also be interested in knowing this. I looked through the manual on Realismus' website and I couldn't see it anywhere.

Sheep and cows get 10 years old. Pigs die of old age after 6 years. Chickens vary depending on breed. White Leghorn and Rhode Island can become 4 years old, while Cornish Cross dies at 3 months of overweight. The roosters can become 6 years old.

In the next version it will show in the menu when the animals are getting old.

Don't cry. Just sell and buy new younger ones. Alternative to buying is to buy a couple of roosters so get some chickens.

Is animal husbandry profitable? I always ended up losing money and inevitably switched back to farming fields.

@norfolk farmer: Thank you. Unfortunately we are still ironing out a few bugs so don't know when next release will be.

@Riven326: What animals have you used? It should be quite easy to get a decent profit raising Limousins for instance. Keep them well fed and you will be able to sell them for 4000 or more after 8-9 months. You buy them for around 2500. Requires quite some feed though.

Just out if curiosity, why did you guys use limousines for your beef cattle instead of Angus? Or is there an Angus option too?

Edit: irl we can't even have red Angus. It has to be black otherwise the buyers won't buy it because of marketing if black Angus beef.
