Question for all those PC experts.
Question for all those PC experts.
So im new to the pc world and just bought a PC that i thought would be somewhat overkillish for farm sim but i seem to get random frame rate drops. Sometime itll play smothly for hours, other times it will just randomly start dropping frames. My PC had an Intel pentium gold g5400 3.7ghz, a nividia 1660, and 16 gigs DDR4 ram. I have a clearish log, (only errors are courseplay ones and ive already checked if that was it). Play on decently high settings and i have dripped them but even that doesnt seem to help to much. Im leaning towards it prolly being a mod but thought id get other ppl opnion. I play on county line with seasons. (4x map, and frame rate drop happens thru all seasons)

Re: Question for all those PC experts.
That Pentium isn't going to help at all. I'd upgrade that for sure and is your main problem I'd say.
Some maps do have frame issues, especially 4x ones on lower end systems.

Re: Question for all those PC experts.
Whilst I get random fps drops on poorly optimized maps that Pentium CPU is 100% bottlenecking your GPU badly
I googled and yeah a dual core CPU is not ideal for gaming in 2019 even farming sim which can be a CPU heavy game due to the physics etc..
Oh and county line and any 4x map really has frame drops on every single system even a £3000 one. Its down to the game engine not scaling the performance well due to the physics/map size being tied to frame rate

I have a water cooled 8700k and 1080ti (and the game is running off a NVME drive) and I get FPS drops all the time, especially on larger maps.
Re: Question for all those PC experts.
It can be a few things.
If it's a windows 10 new installation get rid of one drive. FS19 will continually write save games to the cloud.
Save games get written to my documents and my documents is set to save to the cloud. You need to save locally.
Is your graphics card throttling?
A dual core CPU should be fine. FS19 uses two cores at most. That being said it's about the worst CPU you can buy particularly for modern titles.
But I would be looking at one drive first.
What resolution are you playing at. How much memory on your videocard?

Re: Question for all those PC experts.
Stuttering seems to vary from map to map i had alot on that map so stopped playing it and my system should have no issue running the game you can try optimizing you graphics settings changing the draw distance and other settings should help.

RTX 2080, Ryzen 3700x, 32GB of 3600mhz memory, 970 Evo Plus.
I also get stuttering, textures loading in and FPS drops.

Re: Question for all those PC experts.
It was a mod conflic between some textures i put in and a tractor. Got rid of both of them and it stopped. I was orgiannally thinking that it was prolly a mod conflic since i get ussally 40 to 60 frames easilly all the time and all the sudden i went down to like 20 only when i cycled the camera a certain direction, witch happened to be towards that tractor Also i play slightly below what Nvidia recommends for graphics settings, found if i set it exatly to what they reccomend i get little stutters on county like but if i adjust somethings it goes away. As in my cpu being a bad one for other pc games, i litterly only play farm sim on ny pc cause all my friends still play xbox. Thank yall for all your suggestions tho.

Intel i7-6800K - 6 core - 3.4 GHz
64Gb RAM
nVidia 1660Ti 6Gb
Samsung EVO 850 ssd
... and I still get stuttering at times, usually when the game is trying to do shadows, so I'm pretty sure the game engine itself contributes to it, as people have mentioned.
That being said, I've definitely had mods do weird things as well. I had a semi (mod) on Felsbrunn that, every time I would make the turn into the SE silo area off the road, the game would freeze and I'd have to End Task to quit the game. Quite annoying. Needless to say, once I figured out it was the truck mod, it was gone and I've never had that happen again!
Re: Question for all those PC experts.
im currently on oakfield farm runs like a dream on high settings. cpu is 25 % gpu is around 92-94 %. i go onto greenwich and its stutter city everywhere with the gpu at around 55 %

Re: Question for all those PC experts.
for me, its entirely dependent on the mods/mod maps im using.. yesterday I was running GE and FS19 Bjornholm at the same time while listening to youtube and had numerous other tabs open and was cruising around the map doing dealership stuff for the forum no problems at all.. I tried loading up a custom map with almost nothing on it and I got nasty chops.. the other day I downloaded a... idk a tractor or something.. darn near brought me to a stand still on a default map with almost no other mods present
