150 mph tractor run!

Post by adammac5858 »

JCB used a modified tractor to reach 150 mph. Just wondering if GIANTS had any plans to release it?

I am just kidding.......kinda.

Here's a link to the story, interesting read!

Big props also to Guy Martin, the crazy ex-lorry mechanic.
He also owns a JD and some other equipment that he personally runs on his farm.

Saying hes a ex lorry driver is ofcourse right but you totaly forget hes a ex Isle of Man tt driver.
Driving a tractor at 150mph is not realy scary at all for someone that have done years of TT.
Hes crazy your right but he dosent use half hes balls driving that tractor 🙂

Guy Martin always has been a legend. I'm surprised he's still able to race motorcycles, I don't know how his cojones fit in his leathers lol

one thing I would take issue with in the article is that the Fastrac is
The unmodified tractor has a top speed of 43 mph, making it the world's fastest production tractor, according to JCB.
Unimog's have been faster Tractors for years, given you can buy an agricultural tractor specification Unimog direct from the production line just as you have been able to do for over 60 years.

as for Guy Martin and the type of man he is or the TT race and what the track looks like
plays FS15/FS17/FS19/FS22 on PC

The JCB runs would probably be like waiting on a red light for him.

I would be surprised if this doesn't get made as a mod at some point.

I want to see what would happen if you tried to pull a trailer train with it.

Guy Martin certainly gets about and does a lot of things, including a Q and A session where I was able to buy a music CD of his favourite rock tracks, and a proper Team TAS Suzuki polo shirt. However, he was being pushed into things in his early TV days, but the production team learned how to work with him and get him to do things he's more interested in, and now he seems to be doing things he enjoys.

For most speed records they tend to run in both directions within a short time window and take an average. However, I think that for a tractor record, they should do a run downwind, then pull a full grain cart the length of the run, then work a cultivator back down the length before doing the high speed run upwind. I would allow them to change wheels, but other than that it should be the same tractor.
