Options for finding acreage in game?

I know there might be a thread somewhere on this, if so sorry. What I need is a way(s) to quickly and accurately find out how many acres a field is.. the unit type doesnt matter.. acres or whatever as I can do any conversions myself.. I need to quickly be able to compile this info on an as-needed basis even when the field definitions may not be correct on a given map (Greenwich for example).

Courseplay shows you the area when trying to create a course for fertilising or seeding, pretty sure it’s on the latest version. It’s usually hidden but you click on the little calculator icon to show it. You can also scroll through to see how much seed you need.

I have several script mods running, but I'm pretty sure the one that tells me acres of a field is UnitConvert from Thundr's Farming Simulator World on Facebook.

Yea but would those accurately find the acreage on a field that has no proper definitions? Most maps are close enough that it wouldnt matter but there are some that are grossly off.. For those who arent sure, this is why there are almost no missions on Greenwich.. you can see how bad by picking random fields and using the easy dev tools mod, cause a crop to grow, its usually just a square in the middle lol..

Courseplay will work out the workable area of a field, not including any grass borders, just the muddy bit in the middle.

I'm on console and the best way I've found is to fertilize the field then go to the statistics screen and see how much acreage was fertilized. If you do it after a fresh save and load it will show the acreage for what you just fertilized.

honestly phalken95, thats probably the most accurate solution.. but given as this is for my roleplay forum and its something that I will have to likely do often and with numerous fields at a time, isnt efficient. Thanks for the good tip tho :)

Sadly, it looks like, for the first time during the life span of fs19, I will be downloading courseplay.. Is there a current version of CP that plays well with TONS of mods as my roleplay mod folder is bursting at the seams and I cant have anything that will limit what equipment mods I can use on my forum? Honestly, I dont even care if all the features work as I literally will only be using it to find field sizes. A link would be a ginormous help as well lol.

Courseplay is very useful for this, just generate any kind of fieldwork course on a field, then hit the calculator icon to give you field size, and estimates for seed/fertiliser/lime/herbicide etc usuage for that area as well.

However I personally haven't tried it on Greenwich Valley, because I'm only running that map on a Server and Courseplay has only just been released Multiplayer Compatible and I haven't had chance to upload and try it yet. I wonder how Courseplay fares on Greenwich Valley because those fields are so badly messed up in their definitions. I'm surprised the map author hasn't made an update to this yet, because many people have complained about this and the lack of contracts on that map.

Don't worry about using Courseplay PrincessJessie, I've been using it since it released early last year, and use it in all my let's plays, which have many hundreds of mods installed and active in their own folders. There's only a couple of bad mods that are in the Known Issues Page on the Courseplay site https://github.com/Courseplay/courseplay/issues/3882 and the explanation why those mods are bad is simple to understand. However I think since that was opened changes have been made to Courseplay so it will in fact just ignore and skip over any vehicles or equipment that haven't been setup correctly or that use silly made up specialisations or vehicle types by the authors who don't understand what that is for.

They figured out a way to ignore custom vehicletypes? Thats why I stopped using it early on. I would love to use it again if thats not an issue anymore.

Yes apparently they made it so that if Courseplay detects something that isn't using one of the default game types or specialisations it just skips over it and doesn't try to install into it. You won't be able to use those vehicles or equipment with Courseplay. The only issue I have seen recently is where some modders include some actual vanilla game types or specialisations in items which should not have it. For example a Combine Harvester released by Custom Modding apparently has a specialisation of "Trailer" listed in it alongside "combineDrivable" which you would expect. This now causes an issue because Courseplay has added the Self Unload Mode for Combines, but this silly mod thinks it's a trailer and a combine, so when gets full wants to unload into itself, and then throws a wobbly and freezes your game, until you dismiss the Courseplay worker with the developer console command. Hopefully Custom Modding will update that particular harvester quick and remove the specialisation it doesn't require.
