Bourgault Equipment Questions

Post by jasonbarron »

I have no experience with this company, or with real life farming, so I'm hazy about several aspects of the seeding technology.

Here's the lineup from the Steam dlc page:
- 3320-76 Paralink Hoe Drill – Seeder
- 3420-100 Paralink Hoe Drill - Seeder
- 7950 Air Cart - Seeder
- 71300 Air Cart - Seeder
- SPS360-50 - Cultivator
- XR770 Harrow - Weeder
- FMS CD872-8 - Seeder
- John Deere 9RX Series - Large tractor

My questions are: what's the difference between a "Hoe Drill" and a "Seeder?"
What is an Air Cart?
Which of these pieces of equipment is their largest (in terms of width) and how much is likely to cost in the ingame shop?

I'm wrapping up my first harvest on year one and am looking at expanding into some bigger fields where a bigger seeder would be a great benefit for year two. I see that the Seedhawk (I think I got that right, not sure) costs roughly 500k with the tank, and I'm wondering how much to budget for the comparable Bourgault equivalent.

The seed cart holds the fertilizer and seed for the seeder. According to the fact sheets that giants has posted on the announcement section of the forum, there new equipment will be bigger and more expensive than the seed hawk.
1300 acre farm, finish out just about 10,000 hogs a year, 200 cattle, and xbox one and pc user.

In its simplest form a hoe drill has fingers that go into the ground to place the seeds vs a disc drill which has circular discs. A hoe drill is like a cultivator while a disc drill is like a discer.

"seeder" is just a generic term for both.

The "Friday fact sheets" have the prices for all the equipment

Thanks for the input, guys. Is there a consensus on which type is better ingame, or does it come down to preference? And what are the Friday fact sheets? Have not come across these yet.

I would have preferred they make this harrow work properly rather than "invent" a task for it.

Spray herbicide immediately after planting and bam no weeds. At least everytime I do it, it works perfectly fine like that. No need for a weeder

If you want to know prices you can check out the fact sheets in the announcements sub board. The equipment isnt all there but there is a decent chunk, I believe the big seeder is around $750,000.

Any word on the 80 footer being fixed?

It's missing an entire row of press wheels. The boots are there.

Not sure how it was ever released in this sad state.
The 100 footer is fine.
