What GPU would you recommend for playing FS19 at 4K?

Currently I can play FS19 at 1080p with an AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB card.
I just got a new 4K monitor and would like to play FS on that. My budget for a new graphics card is about $700 CAD.
Would the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT be able to play it (60FPS+)? Or would I need to get a 2080 Super or something like that?
I would also be interested in Multi-GPU setups, as I have an ATX MB that supports both CrossFireX and SLI.
I would like the GPU to support SLI or CrossFireX.
The reason that I have such a horrible GPU is because I was planning on upgrading my computer soon after I built it.
Also curious if dual RX 580 8GBs in CrossFireX would be able to play FS19 at 4K.

If you’re posting on the highest settings, I’d say you’d want a 2080 however, I would honestly suggest waiting until the new cards come out as some of the reports I’ve seen, they’re are going to have massive performance increases. Not to mention a ton of vram.

I'm playing on 5120x1440 (about 89% of 4K) with the 2070S and get 60FPS at max settings.
If I manually change the settings to get rid of the annoying visual circle, I still get around 50FPS.

Yeah, I know about the new RTX 30 series. Maybe a RTX 3070 16GB?

I played at 4k with an RTX 2060 without any issues. I now have a RTX 2070 Super and I'm maxed out on all the settings and have a 10% increase of the resolution in the settings as well and I still don't max the card out.

FS has always worked much better with Nvidia graphics cards than AMD.

Of course, no one really knows how "big NAVI" will perform yet, but it's probably fair to say it's likely to be slower at FS than the Nvidia equivalent.

Is graphics noticeable better on higher resolutions? I play FS19 top settings and manually increased view distance to x5 on full HD on mid-upper range graphics card from 7 years ago.. Still get 30-40 FPS and works fine for me.. The biggest graphics annoyance being the blurry hills in the background and the circles that come where range exceeds some number and starts rendering simpler.

I tried an RX 5700 XT before the 2070 Super and it was a stuttering mess in Farming Simulator. That being said it was a mess in just about every game I tried. I know AMD has done a lot of work on their drivers since I tried it 2 months ago. The 5700 definitely had the power to run FS at 4K but the drivers at the time were so bad that the frame pacing was terrible and the core would regularly downclock in areas of less intensity causing the FPS to drop.

If AMD has got the drivers figured out then it should run it no problem at all.

You cant remove it. Just increase radius to hopefully include current field at least.. Search for fs19 view distance and I think you'll find it..

The API/LUA documents state you can call out for the view distance but it doesn’t mention you can set it. Maybe you can? The docs are not always conclusive.

If you're looking to run things on the highest graphic settings, I just got the 1060 Super GTX, and it can run it on highest graphics at 4k resolution. However, I'm between 30 and 60 FPS, leaning around 40-45 FPS.

As mentioned, your best bet is to go with the 2080 or wait until the prices drop and new models come out.

To note: I play mostly on Medicine Creek so it's more demanding. I haven't checked lately to see what the FPS is exactly on the other maps.

Backup your game.xml and edit it at your own risk.
You increase the xxDistanceCoeff variables up to what your hardware can handle.

Mind you even with the 2070S I can't cover a whole field in Stone Valley for example and also after a number (12x for example) the game just crashes.

I went from a AMD GPU to a NVIDIA GPU and the game play is so much better in every way.

To the OP...

Wait for the new 30 series GPU's to hit the shelves, as the 20 series will come down in price i am thinking.
