Tidying up game saves on PS4

Post by cedricthecat »

I've got 7 game saves currently, on 4 different maps, but the ones I am using properly are on position 3, 4, 5 and 6

The ones on 1, 2 and 7 are test maps

I'd like to get the "proper" ones at the start. Does anyone know if it would work to

[*]Copy game saves to USB stick
[*]Delete all saves from the PS4
[*]Copy saves from USB stick to Windows
[*]Edit saves in Windows to rename, for example, SAVEGAME06 and SAVEGAME06.bin, to SAVEGAME01 and SAVEGAME01.bin etc
[*]Copy the newly renamed files back to PS4

I'd like to just go for it, but scared that it might all go horribly wrong!

I think you're probably right, which is why I wondered if anyone had actually tried anything like this! :)

Thinking about it, I left a step out before, which would have been to make a copy of the save from USB onto Windows, and pop that into another folder somewhere before trying to change the numbering. That way, if it all did go horribly wrong, hopefully it would be possible to copy the whole lot back

Not sure I have a nerve to try it!

I don't have OCD

I have CDO

It's like OCD, but with all the letters in alphabetical order as they should be! ;)

Your thumb drive would probably try to format as soon as you put it back into your console. Unless you jail break it, which I'm not even sure if you can do that anymore haha
