Placing fences around property

Post by Riven326 »

So I'm having a hard time getting fencing to line up properly. Is there a way to do it that I'm not aware of that makes them snap together easily?

C i think on pc snaps things to a grid like style not sure how it would work for fencing or what it is on console if that’s what system you play on

I think it is like lb or l1. If you have the help menu up there is a grid snapping button.

Yes, it's R1 on the PS4. But it doesn't line them up. There's a big gap in the middle.

Lining up fencing is dang near impossible. I always end up with little gaps or overlapping them which drives me nuts! So my advice, forget about fencing or find a map that already has fenced yards

It is possible to line them up together, you just need patience..

Personally i use fir trees rather than fences, works quite well for me. I use placeable trees from a mod (HERE or HERE), but its quite draining on slots as i need a lot, but i keep meaning to try planting ones to grow around my yard instead.

There is also a mod that includes a pre-built fenced yard as part of THIS PACK, but it doesnt do it for me looks wise, and is quite demanding in terms of space

To create something a bit different I put a small placeable birch tree at the end of each fence section, that way you don't have the aggravation of lining two fence sections together.

Yesterday i saw a video on steam with a very creative solution for fences. Here is the link:
It looks really nice in my opinion. Not sure what the impact on fps is, but i'll definitely give it a go one day.

How good is that idea. It looks nice and it's functional. I use the stone wall and wooden fence pack by Dorset. The stone walls are easy to line up.

There used to be placeable hedge sections from Lancyboi I think on the modhub. Not sure if they are still there. You could integrate them as well. Just an idea.
