That’s not bad for the first time. I will accept your challenge though and post an hour of progress after work

The one hour starts after you have deployed your harvester, forwarder, and semi.

I have one single solitary log loaded into my forwarder hahaha!

Good luck!

An hour of logging for me would be....

1. Try out John Deere fellebuncher,

2. Try to learn controls.

3. Swear a lot

4. Return John Deere fellebuncher

5. Buy chainsaw and woodchipper

6. Actually enjoy “logging”

I can’t tell you how many times I said, alright I’ll give these logging machines a serious go, and contemplate throwing my remote. I’m too old to learn new tricks.

Anyways, hats off to you for getting somewhere logging.

Please explain. :)

Is yarding just having a central point to transfer the product?

It’s the big red machine in back, it sets up on top or bottom of a hill and runs a car on a cable up and down the hill and pulls logs up the hill with chokers that lower from the car. The trees on the hill I cut with the tigercat with a different head than what’s pictured and anything I can’t get with that I use a chainsaw. Then a processor (cat machine in back) grabs em de limbs and sizes them and then piles them to be loaded by the 980

that big Madill machine is called a yarder they are very popular on the west cost of North America. In my opinion it works the best because you only need to use a loader once!

Are all of those vehicles in the picture FDR logging mods?

Also, CaptGoodVibes, I accept the challenge of one hour of logging. Are we allowed to cut straight from the harvester into the trailer  ?

The Cat Processor, the Tigercat, and all the heads are fdrs not sure where the yarder is from have had it for a while. The loader ad skidder is wood meadow farms (WMF) the trucks are 5 nine and the trailers are side dumps from the hub

Thanks. I'll check some of those out. I haven't done much logging tbh, but a friend on FSN got me into it, and now I am really enjoying it
