The cut disks are appearing in random locations and not in consistent alignment with the chainsaw. Sometimes it is almost off screen when saw is rotated.
The chainsaw has worked much better for me in the past. Could this be a map problem? Tree object problem?
Work around?
Might there be a mod the that works better?

Re: Chainsaw out of alignment
The chainsaw aiming offset depends on your orientation to the map. I made a mod to display where you are aiming with the chainsaw at all times (LumberJack), but so far I have failed to improve the aiming mechanic. I am still trying though!

I do notice sometimes it is spot on - probably a cardinal - I'll try to fell trees on the cardinal too.
Love Lumberjack! To bad FS isn't up to it.

Re: Chainsaw out of alignment
I would say the problem is with the map and how the map maker has changed the scale of the trees
If the scale is 1 there is no problem
If the scale is more or less that's when you have problems
