Modhub freezing (console)

Post by vondeylenfarms »

Anyone else on console have lots of freezing issues while in the modhub?? I click on something and exit back to the mod menu and it freezes for about 5min...no music or anything...it's happening more and more. I only have 60% used space so not like I'm maxed out

It's been like that for a while, seems worse the farther along you scroll on each section I have noticed. Not sure if accessing the modhub at peak times is perhaps something to do with it.

Yea it's been an issue for awhile but I'm only doing it in here because I've emailed giants months ago with absolutely no response as usual...their customer service is beyond horrid. I've uninstalled the game and all mods and started fresh and that didn't fix it either.

If you are on PC and open the console whilst browsing the mod hub you will see why this happens. It has nothing to do with peak times or your internet connection at all

What are you saying? Are you saying that, if you are browsing the Giant web page and open the game, something happens?

This afternoon I downloaded some buildings and a map through the game menu and I had hang-ups that took the building ages to load yet the map took no time at all.

I have this problem but it’s not as bad as op. Freezes for maybe a minute and it’s worse on older mods like mentioned above.

That's how it was for me also but seems to be getting worse. One point it took so long I hit my PS home button to make sure the system didn't freeze completely

Ya it’s strange. And it happens every time, if I scroll far over to uninstall an old mod I can always count on it “hanging up” when I try to go back. Scrolling between the modhub pages is also slow.

If you are on pc, enable development controls, then open the game, then go to the mod hub, then open the in-game console, then browse the mods. You will see why it’s freezing because of what’s being logged

I'm guessing it's performance related?

Yes, the game engine feels that it’s using too much memory and keeps calling garbage collection to free up resources. That’s the freeze that you see.

So is it a game problem or a spec problem?

Only using 34% of memory and still have it, but like red glasses it's usually not for too long. Although there have been a few times I have done the same thing thinking my whole system froze.
