But my one liner wasn't that Apple could simply update their emulator, although I agree it was a bit tongue in cheek. My assertion was that Apple should provide the remedy, since it was their actions and decisions in choosing ARM, or perhaps more accurately, in having chosen ARM in holding out Intel compatibility via Rosetta 2, that cause the problem.

However, I think we both know that solution isn't with either Apple or GIANTS, but instead with the compiler and when that is updated to generate ARM object code rather than Intel.
Intel Macs are still available for the moment. Which is why I grabbed a new one a couple of months ago ... cause x64 virtual machines aren't feasible on an Apple Silicon Mac even if they started selling them with more than 8GB RAM.

For applications written/compiled in Xcode using mostly standard frameworks like Metal it's not a problem. Just recompile it for ARM and fix the issues. If it's not an Xcode application then it's not as straightforward, and my money is on FS19 being in that category.

I think that's a fairly safe bet.

What did you do? Mine is still crashing. I am using the Steam Version 1.7.1 on Mac OS X 11.3.1.

I've tried everything! It won’t work on either from the GIANTS SOFTWARE website, or the app store or Steam!!

I am afraid we will have to wait for FS22. I am a bit disappointed because of no progress at all in the last 6 months...

We're currently investigating to find any workarounds, but I can't guarantee any success or timeline here. There is of course also the hope that Apple will fix this with a later OS/Rosetta update.

In the long term, we will also work on a native ARM version of the game to avoid Rosetta completely, however we can't say yet if there will be any other blockers that we can't see yet. Also Steam does not support native ARM versions yet, so we will only be able to support our direct sales version (on farming-simulator.com) and the version sold on the Mac App store, unless Steam does add support for native ARM version in the meantime.
I was wondering if this bug is still not fixed or if it is..??

I don't believe it's a bug, as stated in my previous posts. Rosetta isn't a miracle worker - it's doing it's best.

I am waiting for this to be fixed before I buy a new iMac. Almost bought a 2019 iMac the other day.

Bought a 2019 iMac refurbished with the Radeon Peo Vego 20, 1TB fusion drive, 16 GB, 4K 21 inch.
08/25/21
5 weeks of pure hell fighting FS crashes. I lowered the lighting (mainly shading) settings and all the crashes have stopped. Also set the TEXTURE settings to LOW, Mirrors at 3 and shaders at 3

Now can run full screen 4K with no problems, 8 hours today where it used to crash every 10-25 minutes.

Also have all the view settings at 200% and Tessalation at 150% not perfect I’m sure but I am very happy after 5 weeks of suffering

They probably wont fix it cuz they want us to buy FS22 instead of them fixing it for free...

Its not a game bug ( well kinda ) but it also is a OS bug, so its still a bug

The FS22 system requirements on their website don’t indicate M1 compatibility so far… :sadnew:
