Help with my PF spreadsheet
If there is someone who uses manure and slurry here could you please tell me the nitrogen levels they add to each soil type?

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
I'm pretty sure on auto spread it adds 40 regardless of soil type. Will test to be sure and post findings

The numbers are in the precisionFarming.xml:
Soiltype names are in the localization xmls:

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
Went over your spreadsheet for ref again (thank you!!) to find out the discrepancy on wheat: mine left me much lower nitro post harvest - 20-80 across various soil types. To be more precise: loam and sandy loam 60, silty clay and loamy sand 40 predominantly, though there are some micro-patches of +/-20 here and there, but I tend to attribute that to sloppy workmanship)redglasses wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 7:54 pm https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... iTO04/edit

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
I’m just in the middle of wrapping up a wheat harvest so I will be able to double check your findings. Will check back when complete.

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
I just double checked and sure enough, wheat was out, canola is also out and so is oat. Maybe there are more factors to nitrogen that is left over than just soil and crop type? I got all my info from a video which said they retrieved the info from the dlc XML. Very very strange how this info would be off.soccerhate wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 7:45 amWent over your spreadsheet for ref again (thank you!!) to find out the discrepancy on wheat: mine left me much lower nitro post harvest - 20-80 across various soil types. I am personally most interested now in establishing a viable cost-effective rotation plan)redglasses wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:59 amI just double checked and sure enough, wheat was out, canola is also out and so is oat. But those things aside, what GreenBale has done in his update to Six Ashes (according to SealyP) seems a cool way to move forward. It sure adds complexity, but it certainly quotes from reality, as crops do prefer certain soils over others. Because, as of now, poplars throw me way off.
Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
I was just looking at your spreadsheet again, and I noticed something about the pre-seeding granular and liquid fertilizer rates. I don't think they are that low. At least on my ps4, I have noticed that with granular it will throw on a huge amount in order to bring the field right up to the optimum amount on the auto setting.
Unless I am looking at the rates in the help menu wrong, that should be changed.

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
I got that info from someone here on the forum, if you could provide the values you are getting I would gladly run my own test to double check findings. Are you sure you are using the auto setting, make sure you are subtracting the pre-fertilizing values from the post-fertilizing values.

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
Just harvested corn across the map, my residual values for Ni are 60 for loam, sandy loam and loamy sand, and 80 for silty clay. Max yield, no overfert, pH good to perfect.
On the side note, no, corn does not completely drain Ni off your fields.

Re: Help with my PF spreadsheet
So I just did a test. I have pictures on my phone but it won't let me attach them. The automatic application rate is always set as such that it puts on enough to raise it to the ideal value for that soil type. This is a field that has had lime applied and been plowed. Not sure where that person got those other values from, but in my case it's applying it in the high 500's in order to raise it to the point needed of around 160 for silty.redglasses wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 5:06 am I got that info from someone here on the forum, if you could provide the values you are getting I would gladly run my own test to double check findings. I wish it was like those values you have posted, because then it would be more realistic like in real life where I apply fertilizer in the fall, then when planting corn will put on a starter with it. But sadly that is not the case here. It seems if you have seeders in the game with the capability of fertilizing then there is no reason at all to own a spreader and put it on beforehand in terms of the game.
