Grain spillage

I like how the harvesters stop unloading grain when I move the truck away from the pipe or close the trailer. But sometimes they appear to keep on spewing grain for a couple of seconds with the flow either going half to the side, or completely to the ground, or on the trailer roof. Am I really losing grain this way or is it just a graphic effect?
