Those Darn Gates

I'm farming Nebraska lands.
I chose a farm in Farm Manager mode.
Its in the North East area of the map.
The farm has a huge horse stable with enough grass within the stable to mow and harvest for Hay.
I get so darn aggravated at the double gates required to open to gain tractor entry into the stable.
I end up clicking all over the gates and usually spend an aggravating amount of time before I accidently hit the trigger to open or close the gates (opening is usually easier than closing).

Do we need to close the gates? Will horses escape and run amuck?
I've seen people in youtube bump into gates to open them. Is this a mod for the PC?

Thanks for your help with alleviating or at least sympathizing with this aggravation of mine.

You don't have to close the gates, the horses aren't going anywhere.

And the people who run into gates just have good timing and know trigger locations. If you have the help menu turned on you’ll know where the trigger is as it’ll show the key button to press.

Also some gate's are automatic
