Or keep them around to feed out for beef.
I think it’s 3 seasons for milk/calf but that’s only if cows have 9 month gestation periods.

Sure you can, thats why i wrote maximize ;-)
Holsteins aren't very lucrative as beef cattle as they need too long and eat to much compared to the real beef cattle.
Whenever i started a milk operation it took me nearly one full year for the first milk.

Now I have a project to attempt if my computer ever gets fixed... is it more profitable to feed out steers or sell.

It doesn’t really matter as the cows are AI’d in Seasons.

Doesnt matter? if female cows suppose to get prego's to make milk need males :D

They are artificially inseminated.
1300 acre farm, finish out just about 10,000 hogs a year, 200 cattle, and xbox one and pc user.

Artificial Insemination
Pretty much standard practice for swine and pretty common for cattle.
