Pig food for maizeplus....?

Post by Doc3d » Fri May 07, 2021 5:34 pm

Did anybody eventually find a pig food mixer that works with the new mix in Maize Plus Forage? I mean a regular feed mixer, trailed -not the monster factory placeables that are around..

hi,

i looked into the maizeplus forage extension a while ago and found this in the animalfood.xml:
<!-- Food Mixtures, default only has food mixture for pig, we use food mixture for cows aswell -->

-<foodMixtures>

-<foodMixture animalType="COW" fillType="FORAGE">

<ingredient fillTypes="SILAGE" weight="0.4"/>

<ingredient fillTypes="CLOVER_FERMENTED" weight="0.3"/>

<ingredient fillTypes="GRASS_WINDROW" weight="0.3"/>

</foodMixture>

-<foodMixture animalType="PIG" fillType="PIGFOOD">

<ingredient fillTypes="GRASS_WINDROW" weight="0.5"/>

<ingredient fillTypes="MAIZE" weight="0.25"/>

<ingredient fillTypes="SOYBEAN" weight="0.2"/>

<ingredient fillTypes="POTATO" weight="0.05"/>

</foodMixture>

</foodMixtures>

HTH

cheers

@BiggoB: it’s not the mix that’s the issue, it’s having something to mix it in. All the mixers I’ve tried will not accept the ingredients for the pig food, only for cow-mix.
@Norfolk farmer: That would work I guess, but such a massive cheat!? I’m a realism-nut and magically turning maize to pig food is too much of a stretch for me personally
