Game trying to load non-existent mod ?

Post by tom1979 »

In my log file for all saved games is this :

2021-05-08 10:30 Error: Failed to open xml file 'E:/This PC/Desktop/Simo/2-For Editing/LandRoverDefender110_FS19/shaders/vehicleShader.xml'.
2021-05-08 10:30 Error: Can't load resource 'E:/This PC/Desktop/Simo/2-For Editing/LandRoverDefender110_FS19/shared/default_specular.dds'.

There is no 110 Defender mod (there was previously but it was rubbish), and there are certainly no mods installed on the desktop, nor has the E:/This PC/Desktop/Simo/ folder ever been there as far as I know . Can anyone one tell me where this information comes from? If I can find the file then I can hopefully just edit it so that it stops trying to load it every time. It's obviously a really badly written mod.

First off, your graphics driver needs and update. What is the file on your desktop that the game is trying to load? Simo/2

You seem to using an awful lot of script mods and as you can see from the inputbinding errors, relate to IC and something else. These will increase everytime you run the game and increase loading times greatly.

Also, FS19_tuning is causing lua errors so delete that

Your last log entry is at the bottom, there are no errors visible, but you should delete the inputbinding.xml, this will remove the warning, it will be recreated with the next launch.

Simo/2 does not exist. So I don't know where that is coming from.

What makes you think my graphics driver needs updating ?

There is no other errors because the game didn't run. Those Lua errors will still be there but the massive keybind errors are slowing the game to a crawl

The driver is from 2020

Code: Select all

Version: 27.20.100.8682 (5.9.2020)

4 things to do

Update GPU driver
delete your log and inputbindings.xml
Go into the savegame that you are playing in the fs folder. Open careerSavegame xml and find <mod modName= find that defender 100 or simo reference and delete that line and save the file. Notepad++ is recommended for xml editing

Doesn't matter when the game was released, there has been plenty of updates since, last November was the last iirc. Either download and install Geforce Experience or look on the Nvidia website and find drivers for your card

Perfect thank you! I now use Notepad++ for most things, so much better! Especially being able to compare documents

Try those, run the game and share your log again and hopefully things are looking better

It is important to update graphics drivers from time to time where possible. Nvidia have posted several driver and GeForce Now security bulletins listed as "high severity" this year alone.
