Farming Simulator 22 will not run on Windows 7. Microsoft's update support for Win 7 will have ended for almost 2 years when FS22 comes out, so maybe it is time to upgrade?!
Re: FS22 With Windows 7 Pro?
Thanx for reply.. well I´m not changing my operating system for just one game.. thats stupid
I guess I keep on playing with FS19 then.
Thanx.

Honestly most new software wont support Windows 7 since the OS end of life was Q1 of 2020 I think. I dont think upgrading a PC for gaming is stupid at all ive done it many times. I know Microsoft was offering a free upgrade at some point and it looks like you still can upgrade for free (not really sure). You should google "windows 7 to windows 10 free upgrade" I mean depending what you do with your PC it might be worth it to play modern games.

Thanx for reply.. The money is not a problem and I have Windows 10 on USB & DVD.
The problem is that I really hate the platform..

Linux is an option, have heard FS19 and Wine get along well I’ve read, and likely FS22 will too.
FS15 & FS19 Platinum Edition PC (and War Thunder, Gaijin is way worse than GIANTS ever has been accused of being)

The main problem is dx12. Cain't get it on win7, and cain't play any games that use it... FS22 will use dx12. Most new games do.

The specs say it supports DX11, both as a minimum and recommended...Beastbubba wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 10:36 am The main problem is dx12. Cain't get it on win7, and cain't play any games that use it... FS22 will use dx12. Most new games do.
Also, you can get DX12 on Win7, but only for some games. World of Warcraft runs on DX12 for Win7, for example.

Perhaps Giants can look at this? (assuming it won't work with Win7 anyway... even if "unsupported")

Re: FS22 With Windows 7 Pro?
Yeah. You and me both. So far, I've only had one program that didn't want to work with Win7 and that was the latest Blender. A small patch later and it works perfectly. There was another program, that I can't think of at the moment, but I applied the same patch to it and it also works fine. It's just a patched version of "api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll". So, no technical reason things can't support Win7, except Microsoft want you to use their app store.
And apart from the aesthetic disdain for Win 8.10 (soon to be 8.11), I had the misfortune of doing SME IT support when Win8/10 came out. It's rotten to the core.. apart from the graph during file transfers. I like that. Everything else is terrible. Once Win7 stopped being available for volume licensing, I figured it was time to retire. I'm not supporting that junk

They're not going to actively create work to make it Windows 7 compatible. If it works, it works, but they're not going to put development time into making it work with a 12 year old OS which will have been end of life for nearly 2 years when released.
Only 2-5% of Steam users user Windows 7 now judging by the most recent Steam Survey results. If you refuse to use Windows 10 or 11 and FS22 doesn't work on Windows 7 then you'll be better off using Linux, a Mac or console.
It's got nothing to do with Microsoft Store - no FS game has been available from the Store and you don't have to use it - you can even remove the store if you want to.
